You do understand he is a negative asset, that means we either trade for a worse player or we will have to give up first round draft picks to move him.

just throw some second rounders in there I hear we have plenty of those....

Send Duncan a 1st and every 2nd rounder we own for an upgrade lol. We do better at finding undrafted guys anyways

Hell from what we’ve seen and the numbers say, Duncan is still an elite shooter everywhere except Miami and depending on where he goes he’ll only have to play Miami 2-4 times a season lmao

I think someone will take the gamble on him, im fine with sending a 1st if we get a Buddy/Barnes/Turner type player back.

It's a pretty big gamble when he has so many years left on his contract at sizable numbers, too bad he does nothing else near an NBA average other than shoot 3s.

Right now, it's up to Spoelstra (who reportedly wanted to resign him) to figure out how to help him get out of this home slump (he's basically been himself on the road).

Who were the teams that had rumoured interest in Duncan in the offseason? Spurs may be an option, along with Dallas or New York?

Duncan Robinson for Derrick White? He could be helpful off the bench as a 6th man, bring Herro into the first unit. White a solid defender who is also struggling shooting the ball this year, but historically is a reasonable outside threat.

HEAT

Lowry / White
Herro / Strus
Butler / Martin
Tucker / Morris / Okpala
Adebayo / Dedmon / Yurt

SPURS

Murray / Jones / Primo
Robinson / Walker / Forbes
Vassell / McDermott / Bates-Diop
Johnson / Young
Poeltl / Eubanks / Landale

Dallas trade could be something like Kleber and Finney-Smith for Robinson and Okpala or something?

Knicks trade would probably have to involve Kemba and Knox, but we may be able to snag Quickley out of it.

Yea that’s true but he has like a 1,200 shot sample size that shows he’s an elite shooter. Dame struggling like crazy to shoot right now too

Spurs could actually be a solid trade partner. What about Duncan for Doug and Young? Young just voiced his frustrations over playing time but said he understands they’re rebuilding and developing youth

Start Doug in place of Duncan and bring young off the bench or start him for Tucker to keep Tucker fresh for the playoffs

Lowry/Dipo
Jimmy/Herro
Doug/Strus or Morris
Tucker/Young
Bam/Dedmon

I think White offers higher upside, but I was advocating for Thad Young earlier. The more likely scenario seems to be a buyout and signing him in the open market. Given Bam is going to miss 4-6, we may have to move earlier. He isn't Bam, but he's had success as a small ball 5 at any rate, and we know how much Spo loves that...

I’d be fine with either white or Doug if we can get young too. Whether that’s trade or buyout. Doug is shooting 44% from 3 right now on 5 attempts

Adam Borai listed the Spurs as one of the teams as a trade partner for us along with like Detroit, Sacramento, Indiana and 2 others

Meyers Leonard is a likely hell to the naw naw naw. No chance. Micky Arison is very much Jewish lol.

But I'm still intrigued by getting KO back. Idc what anyone says, I'd take him back in a heartbeat. He worked really well as an in between of traditional basketball and Spo's small ball fascination. Plus Jimmy liked him and he's more likely than any of the stuff we wish would happen with a Trashcan trade.

If you've noticed, his numbers weren't as good last year as the bubble year, is he getting worse at shooting? Probably not but teams are figuring out what to do to throw him off his game by either playing defense against him differently or has noticed certain situations where he shoots worse than normal and they allow that to happen more.

You take that and run. The only issue is that after Tucker is done that'll be Spoelstra's PF.

This is actually something I thought about last summer when BI was a free agent. He had clot scares like Bosh though a couple years ago I think? I’d love him I’d hate to see Herro go though but we have a short window to win imo

Thinking big picture here :

1. With Brook Lopez out with back surgery, and Kyrie not playing - there's no real unbeatable teams in the East.

There's a lot of good teams, but no one we can't beat if we're at our best.

2. We're far from our best. With Bam out this long, Dipo still isn't ready, and Duncan and Lowry struggling to start the season - we just have to find a way to survive the next month or two.

If we can win half of these games, we'll be at a good enough spot to finish the season strong when everybody's healthy. We won't finish as the top 3 seed, but if we'll be at our best - we can beat any Eastern team without home court advantage IMO.

We need Dipo back as soon as possible, we need Morris to get over the neck thing, we need our shooters to get out of their slumps, we need Gabe and Strus to keep playing well, and maybe Omer/KZ can take advantage of the opportunity with Bam out.

Just keep our heads above water for the next 2 months, don't panic and collapse. We'll have a shot once we're at full strength to end the year.

Yea that’s definitely true, he got worse in college as the years went on too. He’s still elite on the road though which just doesn’t make sense to me lol. Get it together at home and he’s exactly what we need but it’s been annoying as hell

You’re 100% right, the league is wide open right now. Riley smells blood, he may go all in at the deadline and buyout market. There’s no reason not to
