I still want a big wing to spell Tatum and Brown (more so Tatum, because we've got biggish 2s who can cover for Brown), so Tatum isn't dead by the playoffs. Polar opposites, but I'd like either Vandy or Bey. We do still have severe offensive droughts, and Bey can score. I want Plumlee as a backup big. I really don't think we have the assets to get both (positions). We could get one, though, and dumpster dive for the other position. Basically, all the new guys have to do is be better than Hauser and Kornet, so trade for one position, buy out market for the other. I suspect we'll only get one upgrade, and for my money, I'd rather get the big wing, so Tatum's not half dead by the playoffs.

Agree for the most part, but *IF Boston plays a 2 big lineup often and our 2 BIGs in Al and RW have health issues, then I understand if/why Stevens will go for a Big first. That and there are more Bigs available than "Big Wings"
But if Tatum keeps playing his current minutes, it will definitely burn him out.

Yeah, we really need both, but it's just an assets issue. We don't have that many, and for me, not having Tatum completely spent because of the regular season minutes he logs is the bigger priority, but I see the other need, too.

Agreed that we're not likely going to use lots of assets for both a wing and a big.
For dumpster dive options, there's Barton (if bought out) for a wing. For a big, possibly Noel (if bought out) or Nick Richards via trade (could probably get him for a 2nd rounder)
My favorite scenarios are Vando via trade + Barton via buyout or Bey via trade + Richards via trade.

Lot of those guys suck, or don't match salaries easy. Drummond is a nice under-the-radar possibility.

I liked your Nick Richards suggestion, just based on the video you posted. That's as much as I know about him, lol.

I keep thinking the Celtics are playing Charlotte tonight,
so that must mean a trade is coming with the Hornets.
Grant Williams for PJ Washington, the battle of the overpriced
restricted free agents, or perhaps Plumlee. Lots of options and
TPEs here.

Obvious they want a big and a wing and are mapping out contingencies - remember we almost dealt Schroder for Divincenzo last year and landed Theis instead. We have to measure availability and price but also decide if we want to use Gallo's contract and which position to fill with it. Gallo/Pritchard/pick for Poeltl, TPE for a wing? TPE for Drummond, Gallo for Burks etc.

Wish we just flat out signed Drummond in the off season.
Filled a matchup hole for us and we had a need for Center minutes with Rob hurt half the year and needing to limit 36 year old Horford minutes (which we've flatly failed to do)
Have no idea why we didn't go down that route.

Vecsey was a great read in his day - that Sunday column with all the rumours was unlike any others in the

And I would probably, begrudgingly do,
Jaylen and Gallo
for

Then I want a backup wing from them into my TPE (Warren or Yuta)
Smart/Pritchard
Brogdon/White
Tatum/Yuta or Warren
Durant/GrantW
Timelord/Horford
