Ah, but wasn't Masai in Africa when the whole Kawhi deal was going down?

Sample size of 1. I'm not saying nothing will happen, but people have their own lives and things may just be put on the backburner.

Most likely true.
Maybe Dallas is being leaked to squeeze another team. San Antonio?
Honestly I dont know about you guys but I'm pretty much over all this Siakam trade talk. For the sake of the team, I just hope they figure it out before the season starts so it's not a distraction
It does appear like Masai is again ignoring a potential problem and pretending it will fix itself. Guys on Hawks TV last night thought Masai had no choice but to made a trade, even Raptor fans talked about him not interested in signing extension. One of the famous many Siakam stans accounts on Twitter who turned out to be some older sounding lady said that Masai said he had no problem losing players on expiring contracts.
She kept repeating this over and over, that Masai said a player earns the right to play out his final year and go to the highest bidder. Said even though she was a huge Siakam fan she wanted him to earn the most money and if that meant leaving in the offseason she was fine with that and so was Masai. The HAWKS TV crew finally just shut her down. Starts around 1:40 mark on

This saga feels never-ending and most of these tweets seem to be based on nothing. Is anyone able to get a hold of itbobby for some actual intel?

I suggested this in another thread that Masai is exhibiting signs of this trait. Of course, can't say this for sure but these next 12 months could confirm it. Unfortunately for the team, damage could be done.

I’m desperate for some action. At this point don’t care who with.
Interesting reading Hawks fan site “Hawksquawk”…their “outsider” sources are saying a deal gets done today. lol
They say the issue with Siakam willingly going to Atlanta is Siakam/agent thinks the owner cheaps out and doesn’t give a max deal in 6 months or next summer. Opinion based on working over John Collins in RFA and reducing salary last 2 seasons. Also his stats likely going down playing with Murray and Young so worried about next contract.
But they don’t know Masai very well if they think a trade is happening today.
What was the thread name or provide link please.

The lady in the podcast suggests Masai is fine with players leaving without any assets returning. That goes back to emotional attachment

When has Masai lost (valuable) players for nothing other than for this unusual case of HOU offering a crazy MAX contract to VV?
People are still upset that they didn't trade old, expensive and soon to be out of the league Ibaka/Gasol during a 50+ win season for a bunch of 2nds?

The serge and marc situations were handled absolutely perfectly by masai. If ppl on here are going to endlessly b*tch about masais mistakes, they should acknowledge the things he handled well.
In hindsight, both players accomplished very little after leaving raptors
In both these cases the team was competing l, he played out the season and in the offseason offered no term on the next deal knowing they are diminishing assets. He let them walk because they wanted multi year deals.

You just don't understand the perfect logic here.
Apparently Masai was supposed to have a crystal ball to be able to predict the future, and should have made trades for any player that could hypothetically leave us in the off-season regardless of our record or what the return was.
Masai also should've traded Kawhi and Green in 2019 of course because why would he let them leave for nothing??!!
I'm still sad to this day that we didn't trade Lowry for THT.

Anthony Davis trade!
Lonzo, Ingram, Zion, Josh Hart plus 3 first rounders.

Raps could've traded VV for Kennard and Boston Jr at the deadline. But because they'd be taking on cap commitments into this year, the Raps wouldn't have been able to sign Schroder and/or McDaniels without going into the tax. Letting VV walk for nothing allowed them to use both exceptions without going into the tax. If you weren't going to get good assets back in a trade, it made more sense to just let him walk for nothing and use your exceptions on players you actually want.
The time to trade VV was in 21/22 during his allstar year. That's when would've received a decent offer. But trading one of your best players during a 48 win season doesn't make a lot of sense either. It was just impossible to predict that someone would be crazy enough to give VV the max.

Forget Zinger Wemby…
5 team trades are the real unicorns
I am sure the other 4 teams are just happy to get their legal teams to writ up the proposals only to have Masai and Bobby laugh and say get me a 7th team

I definitely would of taken a bunch of seconds for either of those guy. Between the three of them we could of pulled together at LEAST 5 additional draft picks.

Can you name the last 50+ win team and top 2 seed that was a seller at the deadline?

Unfortunately that was our reality and that waas the time Masai should of understood and pivoted quicker
