I've probably said it on here a million times but he's a deadset freakshow, it's unbelievable.

He makes everything he does look so natural and smooth and he's only in his rookie year! Perhaps I'm jumping the gun a little, but as far as I'm concerned he's a very genuine threat to eventually take the mantle of being our greatest ever player.

I love this part:

Towns knows the work that must be put in. If the Wolves practice at noon, Towns is there by 8:30, 8:45 a.m. at the latest. He eats breakfast, and goes to work, logging up to two workouts before practice starts. LaVine is the opposite -- a night owl working on his game into the wee hours. Between the two of them, the gym lights are practically always on.

Also, Rubio is known as a basketball obsessed gym rat too. As well as Bazz. Haven't heard too much from Wiggins, but I love the fact that the a lot of players on our team are dying to get better. Really shows what Flip meant about bringing in high character people; you don't have people who put in so much extra work if they don't take their job seriously.

and this part gave me chills:

"I've never believed in the excuse, 'He's too young,'" Towns says. "You've just got to do it. We chose to be in the NBA. We chose when to leave college. We chose that we were ready to play this game at the highest level."

What a **** beast. Only real grown men say those things

Yeah, I understand he was the consensus #1 pick which is usually a pretty good sign and that most people are pretty excited about him and his future potential...

I have the weird feeling that he is going to be WAY better than we expected and much sooner than we expected.

I mean look at how good the situation is for him. He has KG as a mentor, who can still play some quality minutes for the team (so it's not just a visit to Hakeem for a week in the summer). He gets to play next to KG while learning from him, that's incredibly valuable.

He's going to have another up and coming super star in Wiggins to take defensive pressure off him, and Rubio to get him easy baskets/wide open looks.

Also, even though the defense was last in the league, the team was a patch work of youth and end of bench guys a lot of the year.

Towns has pretty elite defenders with him in Wiggins/Rubio and Pek/KG/Dieng/Payne are all decent pairings with Towns defensively.

There's been a weird perfect storm the last 12 months or so and I could see it continuing with Towns as rookie of the year and looking much like Wiggins did last year (i.e. legit).

That was from June 28th. You guys should really value my opinion more... lol.

Bill Simmons on KAT:
"If C-Webb and Rasheed Wallace had a baby, and that baby was allergic to marijuana, I think it would have been Towns. That's my takeaway on Towns. I love that guy."

I feel bad for anyone "allergic" to marijuana (though I've never heard of that being a thing)...

He could just say it's like those two with a better brain...

He will be.

It's silly to act as if a 21 year old has shown his full potential.

Someone on ESPN yesterday, can't recall who, said they voted for KAT 3rd team All-NBA. When you think about it, that's deserved, but probably won't happen.

• On Towns: “It’s pretty amazing for a first-year guy to come in and do the things he did. There’s obviously room for growth. But his skill set is very unusual. He has the potential to be very good defensively, with his rebounding, his shot blocking. The way he plays the game, the way he sees the game, he has the ability to make other players better. He had a very impressive first year, but it’s just the beginning. There’s a lot of work that needs to be done to move the group forward.”

I've become one of KAT's biggest fan. This kid will literally tear the league up next year! Also I believe that even though KAT is a rookie, he's a top a top 5 center imho.
The scariest question in NBA history.

"Can Stephen Curry get better?"
