Deeeez Knicks wrote:Shooting is def an important skill for guards, but its not that black and white like shooting vs non-shooting. Fox is an example. I would take him. Wade was one of the best of all time and wasn’t a great long range shooter. Donovan Mitchell is another one, while Monk was supposed to have unlimited range and hasnt panned out.

I have not seen Garland enough so I am not sure either way on him.

I just wouldn’t sleep on Ja because of shooting especially since he can get better.

Neither Westbrook or kawhi could shoot coming into the nba if I remember properly

I’d say they both developed a pretty solid jumper

I’d be less worried about ja’s jumper. He’s got natural scoring skills and he showed great development from year one to two leading me to think he hasn’t exactly reached his full potential yet

I hope so

He’s a guy you can really depend on at the nba level

I suspect we will end up with reddish though

I'd be content with RJ. Wouldn't complain at all.

Meh I'm not really sold on RJ but then again I'm not really sold on anyone besides Zion. Hoping for the best.

Also I've noticed Cam has been dropping out of the top 5 in most mocks now. He might not be on our radar after all. We'll see though

probably. I could still also see us taking culver if we fall further.

assuming Zion, rj, morant go top 3 and knicks are at 4 i could see culver being a thing. For a sg he still seems kind of slow to me and the jumper doesnt seem very fluid but i like the other things he does on defense and rebounding seems like a smart player.

It’ll come down to the workouts and projections

He’s the most natural nba player in the bunch. Cam has the size, length and athleticism to be a perfect Sg. He’s got the skills and the talent.

Apparently he lacks heart and desire. But you never know. Scouts could see him and say he’s got too many skills and raw abilities to pass on at 4 or 5

Or perhaps someone like garland moves up and he drops to 8 or 9

There are no clear bests after 3

I agree on those concerns

Culver is a great addition to a solid team.
Slip him into the pacers or the pelicans or someone and he thrives

But if he’s your top pick for the worst season and your savior then your in for disapointment

That said if we add kd and kyrie then culver might be perfect at the 2. Or reddish if he can develop.

If a guy (like Reddish) sucks in college then I don't want him with a top 5 pick. He shot 35% from the field!!!
Maybe he'll be good by the time he's 25 but he'll be on another team by then anyway.

Excited to see what happens to DSJ in the offseason. Aside from conditioning, Fiz said they will work on his outside shooting. FTs definitely needs improvement as well.

That being said I don’t see a DSJ-RJ Barrett pairing working out unless we want to rack up those L’s that would give us the pingpong balls needed for Wiseman.

1. Zion. No trade.
2. Ja. Cascade of trades to balance roster.
3. Think long and hard about trading the pick. But unless the dude on the other line loves RJ I’m not baring the cupboard to get a star. I’d pick RJ.
4. There will be no blockbuster unless we likely include Mitch/Knox and change. Im not..

I’m SERIOUSLY considering Rui Hachimura at four.
Maybe trading down a few spots but his game projects well in the league. His mid range is money and he’s light on his feet. He has chit guards around him but imagine him in the league in a more open court game. He has some Kawhi (offensively) to him. And he’s WAAAAAAY ahead of Kawhi at the same point.

He’s an ultracompetitive and powerful kid, a lot like RJ that way and it’s hard seeing either failing as pros.
His story has NYC ties as well. He’s Kawhi meets Millsap.
He’d fit perfectly next to Mitch.

Three weeks....

Brace yourselves for the Knicks not getting the 1st pick so miss at Zion...... and then watch whichever guy they pass on at 2 have an amazing rookie season.

Low key, I think Morant is a better prospect than Zion.

Just listened to cowherd talk about something interesting. The athletic pg who can’t shoot Does not win in playoffs. Examples, Westbrook, Rose, Wall.
Less atheistic point guards who can shoot, Curry, Harden, Irving.

I’m now officially team Garland over Morant.

I like Hunter and Rui at 4/5 also, but if we don't get the 1st pick, I agree we should be listening to offers - although we shouldn't be bent on trading the pick.
