Beal is better, but getting him would require giving up young assets. I dont want to give up winslow, adebayo, or herro. Im selfish. WB really should require JUST goran, dion and co. He's really a negative asset at his age and with that contract. There's no market for him and OKC owes him a favor. If they want any of our young assets, I'd just tell them to eff off.

If he's not dealt to OKC in this Westbrook deal he's ours for the entire year. Same goes for OKC. No assets getting pulled for a 33-34 year old PG on an expiring deal. Probably more valuable to us right now tbh as a continued bridge to the Point Winslow transition and Nunn.

Trade him for Iggy. Saves us $2.1m.

I don't see how that makes sense for Memphis when they just committed to Tyus Jones as the backup to Morant. 3 year 24 million to be exact.

So people think we're out of it because of Barry Jackson's singular article? Man, that's hilarious. We are still the overwhelming favorites. This deal was ALWAYS going to be difficult to negotiate & finalize.

& **** Houston for the record.... they get in on everything we do. Jimmy this year, Jimmy last year. Now this. No team wants washed up overrated Chris Paul and that John Wall level contract. I wouldn't take Chris Paul straight up for JJ and Dion.

All I know is we better not have interest in Paul. As bad of a contract, older and much whinier than Russ.

This notion that Westbrook is going to be pissy with an organization that he signed on very well knowing he was going to be the main man is distorted. I don't think Westbrook even requested a trade, It's more OKC that's trying to see if they can do right by him and get him into a better situation as respect. They are not going to just give him away for scraps. They might just settle on Winslow but that's to be determined.

I like RW but nobody else is going to give much of anything to talk on that contract. Good luck OKC.

You don't have the assets for Beal. Pretty sure several teams are willing to trade for Beal with young players and first round picks.

But if you don't want to give up Winslow to get Russ that's another story (I still think Westbrook to Miami is almost a lock)

Right. But if we clear the deck, in July 2021, we sign Beal as a free agent.

No. Just listed the recent back to back summers of them piggybacking and jumping in the Jimmy trade negotiations.

Pat's got this. In the end this will get done and we won't be losing more than Winslow at the most.

Just give them Justise and fillers. No picks, don’t change any protections.

Unless we pay the asking price i see Westbrook have an MVP year, hes Happy being the man on the team, just like Butler. He will want to show the world so i expect a triple double year. Will Winslow even start on this team'? I see him playing off the bench with Herro and Dragic starting. It just makes more sense to try to build value and shooting, being aggressive etc Dragic is better fit as a starter for next year.

So we are down to one sweetener... good! I like how you all think! Knee jerk offer was probably better than clarity offer.

Yeah. We've yet to see anything about Russ forcing a trade. Seems like both parties did the right thing and sat down and discussed the potential of a trade. It's better for both sides. Russ is 30 going on 31, and OKC is clearly rebuilding after the PG13 haul.

While I do see him being traded before, if it comes to it, I don't think this will be anything close to a Jimmy/Minnesota ordeal if Russ suits up for OKC in October.

OKC/Russ are handling the situation well. They've mutually agreed to explore parting ways, but there doesn't appear to be any bad blood....
