My guess is there will be big trades. Lowry and Fred doesn't work as a pairing. My guess is that Fred will stay and Lowry is gone.
Agree that Masai will NOT trade Pascal/OG, unless its part of a superstar deal (Beal doesn't count). You need those types of two-way players to win. But you also need someone else with length who can score.
I don't get this board sometimes. Guy is playing some of the best ball of his career and has shown that he is the heart and soul of our team. He has been an exceptional extension of NN and the coaching staff while on the court, and a veteran leader that every team needs both on the court and in the locker room
And what? We wanna trade him for an "asset" ? Maybe a mid first rounder to pick up Tyrell Terry. ?
He deserves to a stay a raptor. He deserves to stay a starter. His game is not relient on athleticism so I'm fine with him in that role for a few more years.
Ask yourself, who just beat us in the playoffs? How did they acquire their big stars? Has Masai ever seemed like the sentimental type to you?
But this will be a conversation between Masai and Lowry. Lowry has earned the right to have a say in what happens. But if Giannis is coming, there's not enough money for he, Giannis and Fred to be on this team. Kyle's not going to work for nothing in 2021.
Yeah I'm not gonna ask myself that question. Every team that has beat us in the past, has acquired their talent via different methods (Washington, Cleveland, etc..).
We have a strong "system" with guys overacheiving (see Biyombo). They go get paid elsewhere, because quite frankly, we can't afford to pay every contributor on this team $15-22 million/year once the have a breakout season.
Spending 2/3 of our cap on FVV and Giannis (in this ridiculous hypothetical) is arguably not a smart move either.
