Lillard would be the best complimentary guard outside of someone like Curry for guys like Jimmy and Bam. The amount of space Bam and Jimmy would have to operate in the paint would be on another level. Lillard is a threat as soon as he crosses half court and likes to run PnR's high which leaves a ton of space for Bam to roll into his sweet spot.

IDK if anyone caught LeBatard's pod, but apparently Miami felt good about their chances of landing KD at the deadline.. and according to Mike, sources on KDs side were saying KD felt like he was landing in Miami at 1 point. We know these guys are one of the very few to have the "in" with Miami FO (especially Dan) and barely ever put out Heat news unless it's big and vetted by a few other legit people or occasionally in Dan's case directly from Riley. That's a brutal beat...Dan also mentioned that Riley found out about Love commitment during a mutual wedding they were both at.

I think one of the things to look forward to is Martin going back to the bench, not because he's not a very good player, but because his energy, athleticism, and defense is better suited to the bench if he can't start on the wing. He was at his best last year coming off the bench or starting at small forward. Off the bench, with Strus, Oladipo, and Vincent, he should be able to wreak his special brand of havoc and give us an energy advantage we haven't had all year.

Lillard is also accustomed to working with space on the perimeter, not being the ONLY spacing....let's not overlook that.

Would you trade Herro for Lillard?

Damn so wasted the Summer and Deadline chasing KD. Nice.
Throw the same package at Lillard this summer

I don’t see any way the Heat could match that Suns offer for KD anyway. Probably nonsense.

Dan has a very good relationship with Riley and used to report real scoops on the team and Mike, someone notoriously known for having inside information with several of other our local sports teams so I'm not sure they should just be dismissed as nonsense. Dan and Mike are for real and they only put a few things out there which is why they are usually on the money when they do put bother to do so. In this case it was vetted from Miami FO ppl and ppl who work with KD but who knows.
I agree that the package we put forward wasnt going to beat the Suns but it seems like KD and FO were working together on this to an extent so maybe we had something lined up with OKC for that pick maybe we found a taker for the Herro poison pill. Jovic + Caleb as well We don't know exactly what the offer might've evolved into. Suns ended up making the real godfather offer clearly.

We only beat the Suns package if there's no Mikal Bridges. The Suns were reluctant all summer to put him in and the new owner came in at the deadline and said F it lol

Exactly, which is why they finally pulled the trigger the return was good enough. It would be probable if they kept Mikal off the trade Durant would be finishing the year out with them and looking t0 be moved come this summer instead.

Closing lineup is probably:
Dipo
Herro
Jimmy
Love
Bam
With guys switching offense to defense with Herro and Love

I think KLove still has plenty left in the tank. If utilized correctly, I think he could be better than a guy like Al Horford (who's been excellent for the C's and helped them get to the finals last season). Should help with rebounding as well.

Too much size for Spo and not enough of Max Strus.
Gabe
Max
Herro
Butler
Bam
Seems far more likely

Not that it matters now, and as notoriously tight lipped as the team tends to be its extremely hard to believe any of this (excluding the Love commitment). The big dogs nationally that routinely break these trades all say BK worked exclustively with Phoenix on a deal, and the timeline in which that trade came together would seem to correlate with that. Sources close to KD saying he thought he was coming here at one point just sounds like something somebody here would have wrote to get the computers puting, especially when there wasn't a peep about Miami from the major players.

Just saw Kris Dunn signed a 10 day with the Jazz, would love to take a flyer out on Dunn if he plays well for Utah. Dunn would be great to have in the PG rotation depth wise.
