He had the worst defensive rating on the team of all the regulars.

Seems like there is no difference between him and Moon on the offensive end. Except Moon was versatile defender for us. How many of you would be paying Moon 4/20?

That I agree. I think if he can play more as a power 3 and not a 4, then he can be quite valuable to the team. The question is, can he guard 3s?

My goodness that kid is tough. As tough as any forward we have in the league. He is incredibly strong and knows how to use his body, thanks to his days as a power forward.

Toughness, as I define it in basketball terms, is having the ability to perform under any kind of pressure, along with delivering your own kind of pressure to your opponents. LK can not be out-muscled, nor can he be mentally intimidated, and he delivers a healthy dose of power to his opponents.

I guess this gives some insight on his toughness. Now the bigger questions is how good is he defensively against other threes.

well i can tell you, i've watched him all his nba career action and last year in europe.

i can tell you this much about his defense, he'll rarely defend a person that he does not have to defend. meaning he will only get his counterpart sf/pf depending on the type of position he's playing. he's by the book in that way, offensively, he lost his 3 point shot a few percentage points from 07-08 going into 08-09, but got a mid-range game in europe, after all he led the euroleague in points.

go watch a few youtube videos of him dunking on other people in europe, you'll see that he's gotten tougher since his time playing for the nuggs. other than that, he could turn out a hedo type player, if he gets starter minutes, he can be the most improved player no doubt.

I come in from the 40 degree inferno at the beach after chasing my two little ones around, and hope for some good news. Then I come on here and see this! The guy is close to being a scrub and go figure we lock him up for 4 year :lol:

Give me a break. He's a solid bench guy who can easily be moved in the future. There's really no downside to this deal.

I like the signing, and please don't bring in "he is a euro" crap. I don't care about the players nationality as long as he plays his heart out for this team.

And btw ... So the correct figures are 20/4years? or 18.8/4 years (got this number from the poster's thread that got locked)?

I'd assume the 18.8/4 years with an approx $1 mil signing bonus.

If he doesn't work out, we deal him and his reasonable contract. If we're dealing Hedo, which it looks like we are, we need a 3. He's a big 3, can post up, and can score. He might not be the best defender but he's not going to get out-muscled.

And from what I say of him in Denver, he did a lot of dirty work for them.

I really don't think he should be our starting 3, whether we get rid of Turk or not. He should be a 3/4 type that is looked upon to provide offense off the bench. I would rather start Weems ahead of him as he brings some D and can cover quick players.

Seems to be the only consistent opinion on this board. What a shame. Kleiza would be a great bargain at this price. I hope Denver's tax situation presents them from matching. The fact that he wants to be here and not Denver should turn them off moreso.
