Could be Ridnour as Ridnour is the higher salary. Telfair makes close to AR's salary, where we'd only need to add in an extra $120k in salary (ie. Rautins throw-in)

If we were to include Ridnour, we'd need to add $1.4M in salary to AR's...which just so happens to be what Mason is making.

Edit - could also be Corey Brewer.

I thought brewer originally myself. I still like Luke. But minny seemed reluctant to deal him from some reports I read. And he has a long term salary. While brewer is expiring. Interesting though.

Yes. Just like last year in Dallas, NBA owners will meet with an assembly of players during All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles. Lebron, KG and others star players said they will join the bargaining session.

As CBSSports.com reported Jan. 26, Nuggets officials have dropped their opposition to including Knicks big man Anthony Randolph in a Melo deal and have come to view the 21-year-old as a player who could flourish if given an opportunity to play. The possible inclusion of Randolph in a trade that would send Anthony to New York is the only reason Randolph hasn't already been traded to Minnesota for a late first-round pick. Outside of a three-way Anthony framework, Minnesota would take on Roger Mason ($1.4 million) and waive him as part of a one-on-one deal with the Knicks. That deal is on hold until New York and Denver decide whether they're doing business or not, according to a source.

So this?

MIN OUT: Telfair + UTA 1st + $660,000 cap space
MIN IN: Randolph + Mason + cash??

Telfair isn't mentioned, but Mason would need to be added because salaries don't match in a straight up trade between Telfair and Randolph.

This trade seems to match with rumors from three weeks ago, and Kahn's earlier statements about not trading Brewer, and MIN's role in the deal being "over-stated"
MIN needs to send someone out anyway, since we can't simply add two players (even to waive one) since we have only one roster spot available.

Telfair provide a competent back-up PG for the play-offs, and addiitional cap space this summer to try to sign Melo or some other free agent.

Here. Some new news.
With 10 days to go before the trade deadline, the Nuggets continue to explore trade scenarios for Carmelo Anthony while also pursuing a strategy that would result in the three-time All-Star remaining in Denver for the rest of the season, league sources told CBSSports.com.

Nuggets officials are said to have been encouraged by Anthony's recent statement that he will "take a hard look" at re-signing with Denver if he isn't traded before the Feb. 24 deadline. That represents D-Day not only for the Nuggets, but also for Anthony, who sources say also is beginning to feel the pressure of the decision that has been weighing on him for months.

"Carmelo is feeling the heat, too," said a person connected to the Anthony talks.

The Nuggets and Nets have not had any direct contact since Prokhorov pulled the plug, sources told CBSSports.com. According to one source, Denver officials "are not counting on" New Jersey re-entering the talks.

Or maybe not.

For those who didn't get it, the ariticle mentioned a separate deal that could happen just with Minny, that would involve Roger Mason and AR. As it stated, this would be its own ONE-ON-ONE deal between Minny and NY.

It'd be great, but too much to ask I realize, for the owners and players to make progress and tear away Denver's last bit of leverage. Maybe they can at least address the Max player question and get close on that, which would give Melo peace of mind.

Knick have to have a contigency plan. Melo is realistic or Donnie would have turn his back on them. At this point there should be no room for posturing.

I agree, Denver has to have the door open, or Donnie would be turning elsewhere.

At the end of the day, I don't expect it to be about money. If it was, Carmelo would already be a Knick. Landry Fields isn't going to Denver because they already have Affalo. That being said, I'm expecting a Direct package something like Chandler, Mozgov, Randolph, Walker and a pick for Carmelo and filler rotation player. If AR goes to Minnesota, Denver FO is going to look idiotic, especially if Randolph becomes a double double machine in the Twin Cities and that becomes the best value in the trade.

I think you're partially right.

I don't think the Knicks trade Mozgov, I think they will eventually fold on Gallo, and I also think Minn will not be involved.

Knicks will trade Curry, Gallo, Chandler, and AR to Denver for Melo.

If it is the savings they are looking for, the deal can get more complicated, or not at all, but I think the Nuggets want to come away with talent, instead of a cost cutting move, they need to appease their fanbase, Gallo and AR do that for them.

Williams and Walker help make up for the loss of Gallo, Dantoni hates it, but Gallo's body language in the last two games tells me something is up. He also hasn't been tweeting very much of late, I think he is gone.

I think this is the best move for the Knicks, they need to keep Fields, we stay away from taking back bad contracts, and we keep chip players like Azu and Walker. Azu could even be in the rotation by the end of the year, he alone will help us forget about Gallo.

I don't want to lose Gallo, but we have to pay something, I think this is the best of all worlds.

The nuggets are losing to the rockets right now and a denver post writer asked this:

Frustration building out there with many of you. So now i'm asking: Blow this team up? Or keep it rolling?

He's retweeting nuggets fan's responses and they're all saying to blow it up.. so i dont think the denver fans general consensus is to let melo walk if they arent happy with our deal, they want something back.. This doesnt mean anything but it was just refreshing to see, especially when the only denver fan opinions i see are the ones from the 2 fans they have over on the denver board..

Bucher is reporting on ESPNNEWS that Carmelo was told on the bench that a trade is pending with the Knicks, in a 3 way deal with the Kings.

That must be why he went to the locker room.
