I think the Rondo trade should be a wake-up call to everyone that overvalues what we can get for some of our assets. Ersan, Mayo, Middleton, or whoever we want to throw out there aren't getting us a 1st round pick in return. The CBA has made 1sts, and draft picks in general, much more valuable than in previous years.
I'm more interested in looking at buy-low prospects that have been in the league a few seasons. Shroeder, McLemore, Stauskas, and Vonleh are incredible long shots that, even if technically available, would require us to massively overpay in terms of value.
We need to be targeting guys like Kyle O'Quinn, Andre Roberson, Glen Rice Jr., and Timofey Mozgov. Those are the kinds of guys that are available for the right price, not fresh Top-10 pick level prospects. Unfortunately for us, it's a buyers' market right now.
