I've been saying this all along. Hayward is a smokescreen

Let Paul George be the other shoe. :D Fultz is off-limits. One of Brown or BKN 18 (not both) is fair game.

Just like I mentioned on Page 11 in the Hayward Undecided thread I believe Blake Griffin was always Ainge's #1 target. Ainge likes his wings. Frontcourt area of need

Big gamble on Ainge's part then.

Hayward career average of 74 games per year

Griffin career average of 59 games per year :(

NBA Mock Draft 2017: Celtics, Sixers with stunning trade
By Matt Lombardo | NJ Advance Media For NJ.com | June 08, 2017

NOTE: This is a Trade Proposal, by the Author Only.
http://www.nj.com/sports/index.ssf/2017/06/nba_mock_draft_2017_trades_shake_up_celtics_sixers.html
SIXERS (From Boston Celtics)

THE TRADE:
Sixers trade No. 3 overall pick, Jahlil Okafor, Richaun Holmes, 2018 Los Angeles Lakers pick.
Celtics trade: 2017 No. 1 overall pick

I'd make this Trade, as a Celtic.:

* The Top 6 Draftees are Good.
* We get 3rd; Okafor; Holmes & Lakers 2018.
* And still have the Nets 2018.
"You have to put the work in.
Nothing is given."

I don't see him leaving LA. But I just thought it was funny because all anyone can talk about is Hayward right now.

I think if it's Griffin, there's a greater chance of it being a sign-and-trade as compared to Utah because of Danny's relationship with Doc. And I always believed there was something to the rumors of Griffin-to-the-Celtics in the past but Doc of course would deny it until it's time to move on.

Oh man you got me looking at my spreadsheet working on sign and trade scenarios. If we got Blake and Hayward to commit to us. We could fit both of these guys via S+T. Slim chance in hell but it is fun to dream.

In this scenario, We stash Yabusele again.

Trade #1

Jae Crowder, Terry Rozier, 2018 Boston First plus caproom for Gordon Hayward 5yr Max

After that deal we are right at the Cap. But we still have Avery and Olynyks Bird Rights to try and work on a sign and trade while remaining under the hard cap.

Trade #2

Kelly Olynyk 4/64 million , Avery Bradley, 2019 Clippers pick for Blake Griffin 5yr Max

IT4
Jaylen
Hayward
Griffin
Horford

Smart
Fultz
Zizic
Nader

Rest of team is Vet Min and 2017 Second rounders.

I would **** with that team. That team could potentially beat Cleveland.

I wish we could use Zeller instead of Crowder in that trade for Gordie. Utah doesn't have leverage after all if Hayward says he's definitely signing with us with or without a trade. So they get Rozier and a 1st for their trouble and waive Zeller. Zeller's guarantee date (July 2nd) would make that deal tricky though. The S&T would have to be agreed upon on the 1st day of FA unless Zeller agrees to extend the guarantee date.

Cave and 165 I think were on this for weeks now. I'm just not sure how plausible S&Ts are for a star nowadays, let alone two. Griffin-George (if he comes at a reasonable price) would still be my preference mainly because PG has challenged Lebron the most among wings not named Kawhi (and currently KD).

Only if we really like Jackson and Philly overpays. They can keep Okafor and give us Saric instead.

I think people really need to stop overthinking trading this pick.

We have plenty of "good" assets. We need a great one and that isn't coming from trading down.

The Cs aren't going to trade the pick in a deconsolidation, unless Ainge sees another guy he likes better than Fultz, which seems very likely.

They'd trade it in a consolidation, but that seems very unlikely too. Anthony Davis isn't going to be available, let alone Giannis or whoever. And it seems unlikely that Ainge values Porzingis highly enough to trade the pick as part of a package for him.
Banned temporarily for, among other sins, being "Extremely Deviant".

Guys like Okafor and Saric don't do much for our championship aspirations.

Plus, Lakers' inexperienced front office could panic and trade for George ruining that pick's value.

I think one of the changes in the CBA was taking away the extra raises and year when doing a sign and trade. I don't think they make any more money or years when sign and traded. The only difference is you can send out players to the original team for matching purposes and it then hard caps you against the tax line for that year (which shouldn't hurt us at all).

All this chatter about we should trade for AD, but by the time he's a FA Fultz will be entering his fourth year and Jaylen is a RFA and then re-signed going into his 5th year and the 2018 Brook pick in just his third season.Maybe we can have it all and out right sign the dude. That's a lot of talent we will have on the books for cheap.

Another thought to signing AD, Horford comes off the books that summer freeing up tons of space, maybe he'd re-sign at small money to compete for a title?
