The lack of effort to grab rebounds has been all game. Missing a box out at this level is just unforgivable.

Yea but Magic are being killed by Siakam and Leonard and only reason why we keep forcing 2 PFs is because they are allegedly elite defenders, and him being wracked by Siakam and Leonard defeats whole purpose of their (co)existence.

Guards are utter trash but that's nothing new, and again it ties with Magic Gordon- Isaac problem ,as team has nobody on guard or wing position to handle ball and be secundary ballhandlers.

Those guys are defending them almost as well as you can. Kawhi' shooting 27% tonight. And Isaac has been doing great cover defense cleaning up rotations for others. They anchor the defense.

That means you've got 3 other positions for players to be those scorers we need and none of Vuc, Fournier or DJ are consistently stepping up to fill that void.

All i'm saying is that it's clear as a day that Gordon and Isaac aren't best fits next to each other.
But we all knew that year and half ago.
As for keeping Leonard off, up until tonight he averaged 31 ppg on 64% FG in first two.... Now we finally decided to double team him

I didn't say they play defense, i said they don't make enough difference on defense to jusfty their limitations on offense ,clear problems with them clogging two wing positions.
There is simply no versitality with them ,both are stiff with ball, both don't attack off dribble, both don't draw fouls and non of them is elite shooter.
There was really nice data few months ago how their net rating together isn't bad, but in both cases when one is off and Ross is in, team plays better. And it's not like Ross is some elite wing player, just gets a job done better.

Siakam is averaging like what ? 24 ppg on 50% FG, that's not working hard ... He does whatever he wants.

I mean I can compile a compilation of video clips the past 3 games if you want... even a Raptors writer did an entire article with gifs about how even though Pascal scored 24 points the first game, only 6-8 or so were on Isaac and the rest of the defense was very contested even when he made those shots.

He got the best of Isaac a few times tonight, but Pascal has scored on like 6 diff players.. again.. if you're thinking he's not making him work hard, that screams bias.

He has 28 points on 11-19 shooting. 1 on 1 defense is second to uslesss as a skill in nba today, it's all about team defense, I don't talk about individual defense or defense in general. I'm talking about Magic wing players . Gordon had 2 good games, looks pretty meh in this one, Isaac shoots 3-17 for 3 in playoffs and has 1 assist in 3 games. Non of them play with a ball-, both are better when others do work for them. In same time Magic guards can't create for them. Just bad fits all across the board.

Gordon and Isaac are the least of the concerns for the team. Vuc is our supposed 'allstar' and 'best player's but he's come up empty all playoffs. Evan is completely useless. Completely. DJ had one good game but clearly played beyond his ability that night.

It's absolutely absurd to be trying to discredit Gordon and Isaac in this series when other players who have higher expectations aren't anywhere close to matching those.

Cliffy can take that L and enjoy it with his pal Frenchy. It’s on them.

This game was a massive missed opportunity. As the underdog, you can't lose a game like this where it was right there. First, the collapse in the 3rd quarter. But then you got yourself back in the game only to throw it away again. Steve Clifford teams supposedly don't beat themselves, but there's no other way to describe this one. Raps defense was good again, but they weren't nearly as sharp overall as game 2. Winnable game if the Magic were anywhere near competent.

- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

Should have been doing offensive and defensive switching at the end.

Wasted the defensive game of Aaron Gordon's life.

Winnable game, but once again Fournier love by the coach takes over.
Every single coach does this.

We need a new backcourt, it’s that simple. AG, Isaac, and Ross have carried us.

You aren’t beating a team like the raptors when u let them win all the 50/50 balls and aren’t boxing out. Atleast 3 times they got the long boards

Why'd we stop running the offense thru AG?

Tough and disappointing loss but the lack of scoring from the backcourt outside of T-Ross was telling. It was what I always felt would hurt this team during a run up to the playoffs.

Give Toronto credit though too. They defended well but the lack of backcourt scoring outside of T-Ross has to be addressed.

You have to play Issac over Fournier. Fournier killed us on both ends all night.

this game was too winnable. would rather have gotten blown out than watch our disgusting lack of focus and hustle at the end.

Not getting the rebound sucked, Evan sucked, but I am most disappointed with Clifford. He is the coach and has the control of benching a useless player in Evan for a player who actually makes winning plays in Isaac and did not. I just can't respect decisions like those.
