The Knicks have had a particular problem with stabilizing the PG spot for a very long time and it will take a particular type of person and player to resolve that.

I said Dallas upgrade their position. We could have needed that type of scoring too though.

Who did Dallas get that was an upgrade? Are you aware that Sexton is a RFA and Dallas did not trade for him?

Don't let facts get in the way of useless argument.

Just quickly googled Sexton Dallas, most of the top results are like this "Report: Cavs not interested in what Mavs have to offer in potential Collin Sexton sign-and-trade"

So why is this guy pretending they signed him? Sure it may happen, but it will cost them more than just money. HELLO!?!?! ANYBODY HOME?!?!?

Brunson had lower numbers, higher efficiency, but again, Luka is much more ball dominant than Garland

Also, both shot 40% on c&s jumpers in the years I posted

And Brunson is better on defense with a much better A:TO ratio of just under 3 compared to just over 1 for Sexton as the secondary ball handler.

Ultimately, Brunson’s ceiling looks much like Sexton’s floor and if Dallas replace one with the other, they upgrade their off-guard position big time in terms of scoring.

Denying that level of talent is never going to end well.

How is Sexton being worse defensively and TERRIBLE with turnovers just being glossed over?

1) Brunson is beyond terrible defensively too. A target.

2) The turnovers aren’t bad at all for a primary scorer at 24.3 ppg. Randle easily tops him. Tatum is right there too.

Dallas doesn't have the cap space to sign him outright + he's a RFA.

Dallas doesn't have the pieces to acquire him.

The end

The Mavs are signing Sexton? Have a link?

They’re not getting him

Sexton has some potential but he also has a lot of question marks. Mostly being that as a PG he has only played losing basketball, and he’s coming off a serious knee injury

Brunson has question marks of his own about how he will play when he has the keys to the offense, but I think his playoff performance should ease our mind about it

Lets convert Fournier and IQ into Sexton. There. Everyone happy. Except Guano, which makes everyone even more happy.
Oh, and team IQ in shambles.

This needs to happen.

It’s a discussion around the league and Dallas is going to pursue this hard. You might soon look like the guy in the red shirt eve without all this actually going down. You’re not very careful.

I’d like it, but Sexton would probably outplay Brunson. 8-) still, this was actually about Dallas outsmarting us if they could land the superior player and fit after all.

Colin sexton is a loser. As soon as he got hurt garland and the rest of the team flourished. And it’s been said he’s hated by his teammates for his me first attitude. Why does anyone care about this bum?

Only because we haven't had a good PG in so many years, we now have PTSD, and we are crazy about everybody who's better than Elf Payton.

If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

Capn'O wrote:Don't know - but what I'm saying is that the league is well aware that every team talks to FAs before the official period but they only take action when you have specific deal/contract details leaked. Then it's a nominal penalty (future 2nd). It's basically a "hey, keep your **** leaks down" slap on the wrist irregardless of whether it's the agent or the team doing the leaking.

I think we will get penalized and I'll think it's just as dumb as when the Bulls/Heat/Bucks did.

There’s 2 degrees of separation, or 3 at most, between everyone in the league, both players and team employees. Thus, somebody is almost always going to know someone who can talk to their prospective targets without technically breaking the rules. But it is still essentially the same thing. Should just toss the rules entirely.

You’re better than Elfrid Payton and if you were our off-season PG signing I guarantee you I would not get that excited

Brunson is definitely that guy who wins some games with the clutch final shot

Return to New York Knicks
