Tyus is an expiring this year so we lose that contract to put in a trade in the summer

Wiggins has a long term deal and might be difficult to move going forward

We're probably going to keep him

Donte/Hart
OG/Eason
Randle/Eason
I-Hart/Precious

This is the versatility we need to compete for a championship this year.

I would love to get Eason. He would be a great pickup

If we are trading Fournier, we want another player that has expiring contract for next year so we can use him to salary match for a superstar in the offseason.

If we want to trade for Donovan in the offseason who makes $36 million and we don't want to break up the Villanova boys or trade core pieces like Mitch then we would need a contract like Wiggins, Brogdon, Murray, etc to match the salary.

This would be a home run trade deadline... brilliant.

Eason has more trade value than Grimes and the Rockets value Eason since Udoka recently called him a 'young Kawhi Leonard'.

Also the Knicks don't usually think outside the box with these type of trades.

I love Eason - I'm probably his biggest fan here - but I don't see the Rockets trading him for Quentin Grimes.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

Eason being mentored by OG would be wonderful, though.

Maybe but they have to decide between him and Smith… at some point.

WT says CP3 on the block. He might turn to dust but that's the type of leadership needed for the second unit.

Perfect for thibs too, a player who takes the air out of the ball. Imagine Mitch comes back and we run him out with CP3 on the 2nd unit.

No chance Houston does that. Hell you could probably add a first rounder and they'll still hang up laughing.

Lol as if wed need to think about trading Grimes for Eason. That would be an amazing pickup.

Take off your Knicks hats for a second guys. What do you realistically think Grimes is worth?

I have his value as a late 1st round pick, which is where he was drafted, OR another young 7th-8th man. He had a solid season last year, but nothing special and has clearly regressed to where his lack of offense doesn’t outweigh his above average defense.

The whole ridiculous idea of Grimes being some centerpiece for a star has passed. He’s got nice straight 3/D potential, which granted every team could use, but anything more than that is imaginary. Not a good finisher, rebounder, playmaker, or ball handler with no moves and mediocre size/athleticism. He can have a long career playing defense and making 3s, but teams can find players like him in every draft.

1 more week. If Grimes stays Ill hope he finds his groove, but Deuce has passed him so it could be time to cash him out.

Begley suggested the one-for-one trade idea. I think he must have a pretty good idea of what Grimes' value is around the league, however I think his value is difficult to gauge for the average fan at this point in his career like you suggested.

I personally see struggling players as possibly "available for trade." Not always bad. Grimes might have scared off a few teams, but I think there is always a team out there that thinks "we can get him right." That team might be Houston.
