Nonsense. Mikal was one of or best players during that December run. He has several game winning blocks/steals this year and in the playoffs. The shyt this guy gets for being completely abused by Thibs is ridiculous.

It’s the easy thing to say and it is realgm in 2025, so …

That's just crazy. He has been getting **** since PRESEASON! Thibs was terrible at utilizing this team. Absolutely terrible.

Bro he’s a good player. Do they watch games?

Mikal to HOU for Jabari Smith, Cam Whitmore, Jock Landale (salary matching purposes), + 2 1sts

this is knowing that Mikal was heavily coveted by the Rockets last year. I'd prefer to trade Mikal for someone like JJJ, but if the Rockets were still interested I'd definitely consider dealing w/ them; their picks are very valuable: #10 this year, pick swap w/ BKN 2027, PHX 2027, 2029 2 most favorable of DAL/PHX/HOU. + Jabari Smith has a lot of tools and will likely breakout soon. Whitmore is a bucket w/ no room in that rotation

Is Jabari enough of a rim protector to play next to KAT? In theory - OG/Jabari as a pairing in the front court could make a lot of sense. But for the deal to make sense there needs to be a follow up flipping the picks and using the balance of Bridges salary slot for a shooting guard who provides secondary shot creation.

Brunson/(insert shooting guard)/Anunoby/Jabari/Towns

McBride/Hart/Robinson off the bench

I'd honestly just start Deuce with that lineup

I don't understand the logic behind this though. Raptors are not a win now team.

Dude runs up and down the court and in circles on defense. Crashing through brick walls chasing all stars around all night EVERY night. 82 games. Some personality flaw is a problem? Some perceived lack of aggression is a mental problem? The coach sucked. The system sucked. The guy will played pretty damn good. 17+ ppg 60+ from 2p 35+ from 3. Lock down D at times. What are we talking about here? He was good in the playoffs.

To be fair, not everyone is dumping on him. Some just want to see more fire. I feel the HC is really what the problem was.

Everything you say about Mikal is spot on.

However the business and relation side of it play a role here too....

Is there a world where we keep Mikal? Possibly. I am not against it. I am all for maximizing roster construction within the rules of the current CBA. Unfortunately one of Mikal or OG may be the best way to do it. Hart will not get you the value back Mikal or OG would. And unless you are getting aGiannis or maybe JJJ trading KAT will downgrade not upgrade the team.

Going for a 2 year window of first round exits.

Don’t blame them for trying to get off the RJ and IQ contracts though.

Been saying the same thing for days. The new coach needs buy-in to the roster construction or it's doomed to fail.
