Never mind, top 5 bad. They went through a horrendous breakup that destroyed the season, and they still made the playoffs. Now they are going to be top 5 bad? I don't see it. It's more likely they will be better. Just not competing for a title.
And that's the worst thing to be - not good enough to contend, not bad enough to add high lottery talent to change our faith.
I swear if I see Wiggins/Rozier/Anderson getting minutes so can fight to get the #9 seed...
Go full young, make moves for the future, maximize the draft. Don't make this season even worse then what it needs to be by watching old journeymen suck.
I'm not asking for much. Well I am, but I'm not getting that. So can we at the very least go one season just getting our cap in order and not trading away any 1st round picks for mid players? Can we at least get our crap together so we're in the game when a real star becomes available?
Is that asking too much?

Charlotte? Yall really come on here and say anything.
We can avy bet or something if u want
It’s not like I’m a fan of charlotte
Just a matter at looking at their young roster and believing in improvement
Charlotte is a
horrible franchise.
The Bobcats/Hornet have finished > .500 all of 4 times in 21 years.
We've finished < .500 only 4 times in those same 21 years.
In that span of times they've made the playoffs the same number of times as we've won the NBA championship.
We sucked last season and Charlotte only won half as many games as we did.
I wouldn't bet anything I didn't want to lose.

Betting against Mia in the short term is pretty safe imo

I wouldn't be surprised. My guess is that they need or want a bigger contract to match salaries at the deadline.
He turned down 5/150 in the offseason, so technically it's a discount?
This off season, the league is telling us that 1 way scorers aren't worth anything. Look at the contracts given out to guys like dlo, Trent, etc.. Now look at the bulk of trades, it's teams paying to get off these contracts like mpj, green, poole, cj, simons, etc... Even if everyone had unlimited cap space, I don't think many would waste time on Kuminga. Maybe bad teams hoping to get lucky with the privilege of paying for it. ie kings and the bulls.

The radio silence from Duncan's camp after terminating his contract and not immediately hearing Heat offers/meeting with other teams is...interesting. It could mean something, it could mean nothing. But his agent isn't some schmuck, he's got hitters on his client list. I'd be hard pressed to believe he simply got bad information on his market value.

Im a bit surprised we havent gotten Dunc info yet. Declining that option and reeeeally helping out Miami seems like a predetermined situation that would have a quick resolution.

This is such a crazy concept. If a team wants a large salary to trade, sign a random veteran to a massively inflated 1 year contract. The name of the player shouldn't even matter since he'd just be salary filler on an expiring contract. You do NOT sign a guy to a 5 year deal for the sake of matching salaries in a future trade.

I bet we gave him the assurance to bring him back in the case he had no suitors. We may sign him to a 1 year deal worth about 10 million which is what he would have been paid anyways. Hopefully someone else steps up to the plate for his services in the coming days but not holding my breathe

If we do then we deserve the league investigation that would follow. You're not supposed to make that kind of deal to circumvent the cap rules.

Miami is going for a "soft" tank. Basically everyone expires by 2027 except Bam. Even if Miami doesn't make any significant moves this summer and "runs it back", there is a chance Miami misses the playoffs anyway and ends up with a lottery pick.

They're taking their sweet time to make us suffer and to avoid tampering charges.

Pat has a history of tampering. Part and parcel of being the "Godfather".

No trade, except Giannis who wont get here, is gonna get us into contender status. We have a lot of young guys who need development and we need to see if they are pieces for the future. We will be in the playin again. We will lose in the first round again but if we get a clearer picture on what we have it will be worth it.

Also look at their actual roster. They have 1 real center and its an old rookie. They're going to be BBQ chicken in the paint besides the fact their perimeter defense is iffy too. Lamelo turns his ankle again and they're a high lottery team once again

You think? Miami could just make the argument they’d rather have the actual player than the dead cap space but who knows you could be right

We have to be exploring the trade market right now and the extra cap space is to be used maybe on taking on a bigger chunk of salary? We shall see

Rich Paul and Lebron’s cronies can BS all they want, Lebron is gone from LA if not this year then next year for sure. They’re clearly pivoting to the Luka era
