Sam Smith has been saying for weeks that the only trade partner that fits all of the below criteria is the Kings:

1) Can absorb all or a portion of Deng's salary (Outlaw or Garcia would be partial)
2) Assets we want
3) Desire a veteran SF
4) Low short-term expecations so can afford to wait a couple months on Deng's surgery

By all accounts, a deal with Sacramento is still unlikely. But even if there is mutual interest on both sides, can't really make a deal until you know what's there at #5. Barnes is probably a seamless fit. Do Bulls really want MKG? Robinson requires a full-scale shuffling of the front-line. Beal is likely gone by #3.

It seems that the best thing for our FO is doing nothing and keep things as they are. Nothing new here.

Sounds like HOU might do #16 and Dalembart for the #5.

Kind of looking like the Bulls are running out of trading partners for Deng

If the Bulls can get into the top 10 of this draft they should do it and get a SG to run with Rose.

If this was pre-new CBA, I could see teams absorbing Deng for a TPE.

Now? No chance.

People, I'll say it again; Korver, Watson, and Brewer will go. If any of the three are to stay, it's CJ.

The Bulls will look for vet minimum guys, such as James Anderson, Rasual Butler, Delonte West, etc, to come in and provide a "spark" off the bench.

Asik will be retained, and JLIII may very well be the beneficiary of our MMLE.

While this is certainly what appears to be an awful offseason taking shape, that's pretty much what you should expect. The Bulls, under Reinsdorf, which I tried to remind everyone in the Steve Nash thread, will never be a team that pays the LT unless we're winning titles.

Jerry can say anything he wants, but until he steps up to the plate, I'll count on him being his normal self = CHEAP.

In terms of trading a next year's 1st, that's something I don't see happening either because it will likely be a pick in the 16-20 range, and I'm not sure the Bulls will want to give that up if they're trying to build a team from youth.

Everyone relax, and look forward to the draft. We're lucky that GarPax for the most part has a good eye for talent and do well in the draft, and we certainly have to hope that any rookie drafted by us can contribute right away.

Boogy and Ralph, thank you for your continued updates. I know it's frustrating when people are pulling at you left and right for an update, especially when most rumors are simply that, rumors. But we still appreciate the information!

Can't win with someone like that.

Sounds like we're going to be the same (Roseless) Bulls.. that doesn't have enough to win the championship. Just good enough to be an ECF team. So we're going to look like:

Rose - MMLE - JL3
VetMin - #29
Deng - Butler - 2nd Rounder
Boozer - Gibson - 2nd Rounder
Noah - Asik

I don't think we can afford Rip.

I like how people on this forum think that Deng could still be traded just because they pointed out that he wasn't getting traded to GSW and not another team. I think it would be smart for all of us to stop looking at hopeful Deng trade scenarios and start going back to talking about who we can draft with our pick and maybe get hopeful for free agency. Deng getting trades is extremely slim at this point.

This team is going nowhere. Time to focus on my 49ers. They actually want to win.

The Bulls don't want to go into luxury tax if they can help it. They know they will struggle this season. Why add more to payroll right now?

The better question is why not? Well... maybe that isn't the better question. We know the answer.

Whoever said Dalembert+#16 beats an offer of Deng+#29 is wrong. Deng is a far better player than Dalembert and fills a major need for Sacramento.

49ers will never win with Alex Smith as QB.

Not sure i'd classify Boston as "incredible" athleticism either, or the Pistons, or San Antonio.
