On their picks, they just need this huge crop of guys from '15 and '16 to pan out. Still very early on all of them though.

I want to be as clear as possible while killing the Celtics draft that its a crap shoot and some guys just outperform and make everyone look stupid (Paul George at 9, Giannis at 16). And no one had Gobert breaking out like he did. I mean Noguierra was viewed more likely to break out like that was what I saw and heard at the time, and Atlanta (and Tor) are telling you it didn't happen.

So, it absolutely can turn around big time. But if it doesn't? Then Ainge's drafting looks a lot like Cleveland's during the period they reached against consensus for Tristan Thompson, Dion Waiters, and then Anthony Bennett. And that is with foresight (it looked like bad odds bets at the time) and hindsight (the bets didn't pay off).

Foolish comparison IMO. A total bust at first overall? You are essentially assuming now that Brown will be a total failure for that to be a relevant comparison.

Well, I don't expect Brown to be as big a bust as Bennett. And like I said, he could turn out great. So, I don't really see the issues you have with the comparison or an assumption of total failure. But the basic point to the Celtic fans that want to avoid any criticism until years down the line is that a pick can look bad at the time.

Dallas was in on him too.

Any word on barbosa? Haven't heard anything about him. He'd be a nice backup. And would be nice to take a rotation player from the Warriors 8-)

"Everything is going in the right direction, and I expect to finish the TQO with Croatia to go sign my contract in the US," he said in local media . "I still have a year of contract with Efes and Perasovic wants me to stay, but I promised to join the Sixers after two years. What is promised is most important, and when you are a man of his word, no matter what is in the contract. "

-- Dario Saric. Hopefully this ends all the stupid posts about him not coming this year so he can make more money next year. This has been the plan since he was drafted and I've never seen anything remotely credible that ever suggested differently. He should be a Sixer this season.

LIS, my memory is a bit fuzzy but I thought Atlanta was the only franchise offering enough money and the ability to be the focal point of an offense.

After the Tobias and Ibaka trades, I wonder if the Magic will at least get protections on the pick.

This deal makes a lot of sense if Watson is the return for the Pistons. I don't love the Magic giving up cap space for Meeks and certainly not a pick and Detroit could use a vet PG.

Yep, don't know if that's meaningful, but I'm not totally counting it out.

Lowe and Stein were saying the same thing on the Lowe Post. That KD hates this and wants to make one decision this year. Even if he signs a 1+1 he doesn't want to go through the process again next year. They suggested that favored the Warriors as their core is more intact that OKC's will be next summer, but I think it still favors OKC.

Meeks is an expiring and if Watson is involved (which makes sense) it makes perfect sense as we're looking for bench scoring (hence the Crawford rumor). Now if Watson isn't involved and we give a pick of any sort then I will question life lol

I don't get the deal for the Magic. If anything Meeks need to eat up some other team's cap space, not the Magic's. :nonono:

The magic don't have cap still so Watson HAS to be involved which I'm totally okay with.
