Excellent. Looks pretty straight forward too. I'll give that a try. Not looking to go balls deep, but just something ever once in awhile to maybe research some low prices stock and try to learn more in the process.

Take this from someone who just started with Robinhood. They make it super easy to buy stocks, and that's a good thing and a bad thing. ;)

I joined just on the cusp of this recent dive. Unfortunate timing in my part. Fortunately, I didn't put too much, but having it on my phone is like a constant temptation to buy/sell. Be strong.

Yeah that's a great point. It's essentially online gambling, haha. I will try to be smart. Thanks!

Robinhood is awesome for starting out. Super simple, pretty good UI, I enjoy it a lot. The only issue is not all stocks are available.

Trading and investing are not the same thing.

Two Warren Buffett quotes:

“Only buy something that you’d be perfectly happy to hold if the market shut down for 10 years.”

“If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes”

For the Buffett fans out there, you only need to buy a class B stock of Berkshire Hathaway (~$200) from something like ScottsTrade and you can sign up for 4 tickets to the ShareHolders conference in Omaha. I'm doing it this year just to see what it is like. It's a full weekend event.

re: Weed Stocks

So I am continuing my research and came across CEO Bruce Linton of Canopy Growth talking at New West Summit. A long watch but I came away with a very clear understanding that Canopy's management team is incredibly well positioned to be THE leader in Cannabis industry globally going forward. Well worth the time to watch for those interested in the industry. I watched a couple of other CEOs presentations and in my mind no one held a candle to Bruce in regards to short term and more importantly long term position in the industry going forward.

Canopy up 11% atm, but took a dive as all CAN weedstocks did last week. Legalisation probably later, maybe even 2019 I read

Yeah I am trying to find out more about the delay, but it sounds like it is on hold until ALL the provinces are ready, and not all of them are prepared to deal with it just yet, but most are.

For all of you paying an Asset Under Management fee to a financial planner (2% is pretty common at NWM), or high loads on churned investments, I encourage you to read this.

It's targeted for medical people, as you can tell by the examples given, but is certainly applicable to anyone investing.

CRON has been offering nice returns since it debuted on NASDAQ earlier this week.

FYI - I know pot stocks were really hyped up and then took a dump after Sessions tried to bring down the hammer - but Canopy Growth looks to be making another run.

I have around $200 invested in Chronos Group right now. It’ll be interesting to see where it goes over the next year.

I really like what a lot of the Canadian companies are doing to position themselves as world leaders in the industry. I really think Canopy will end up on top of the mountain when it is all said and done, but if some of those estimates about the potential size of the market (outside Canada) are correct, there is plenty of money to be made by all.

What I am really interested in is picking a few of the smaller players that are associated with cannabis, like oil extraction and seeing if I can get in very cheap on the guys that are going to be the big player.

At this point though, I'm not putting any more money into the US, just going to be too long until it is federally allowed, which is what I think you need for something to be a homerun. Canada is where it is at, can't wait until they finally get the all clear!

Excellent. Looks pretty straight forward too. I'll give that a try. Not looking to go balls deep, but just something ever once in awhile to maybe research some low prices stock and try to learn more in the process.

How long did it take Robinhood to approve you? I think I submitted a month ago and am still waiting for approval.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

About 48 hours. I haven't been approved for Crypto or anything, yet. Not sure when they're rolling that out. But I was able to buy and sell stocks about 48 hours after I enrolled.

Had same issue. Waited like 2-3 weeks, reached out, and they came back saying couldn't approve. I have a really good credit score, no financial red flags, etc. Kinda weird I thought.
