I do not have enough words to express how the Knicks made me feel tonight. Thanks, Dolan! Thanks, Pills!

i don't even like him but you have to do that if you can. probably have enough talent to fight for the 8th spot.

But I'm thinking he goes to the Lakers.

It'd be a nice NY v. Brooklyn rivalry story if he goes to NY though.
Yeah I see Lakers being heavy favorites for Russell. But I would think the Knicks would be the second option.

Jeez, didn't know it was this bad:

$27,504,630;
$29,542,010;
$31,579,390;
$33,616,770

I would want 5-6 first round picks for that. And two of them need to be in the lottery.

If the reality is that the big name free agents will only join teams that have been in the playoffs the year before then adding someone like DLo now could make sense for the 2021 FA Bonanza. You give the Knicks young players 2 years to develop into a team that can reach the playoffs (not hard if you look at the landscape of the East). DLo may not be perfect but that would be one heck of a talented young team the Knicks will have out there.

THIS would be my worst nightmare. Imagine them hitting the lottery after this offseason? I want a repeat of last year - make the playoff, get summarily dismissed.

Knox could play 4 next year? Come on. He'll get broken in half. Give him a couple of years to lift weights and eat a few cheeseburgers.

He could STILL get a few minutes at 4 even after Randle and Gibson, who need to provide about 18 minutes a night at C as well.

Sure, I would've liked a cheaper guy than Gibson, but it's not the end of the world.

Not picking on this post in particular, but I don't understand why people still think players are numbers 1-5. At the very least it's obvious that those numbers should be separated by game state.

Whatever.

Last I checked, basketball teams need a few tall guys with size who can do some or all of the following things: Defend inside, rebound, block a shot, posses a post move.

You don't have to explain to me positions. It's ALWAYS been fluid based on players skills and who they could guard. At least with the good teams. Obviously more so now.

Can Knox play "4", whatever that is? Sure - depends who the opposite players are, not only at 4, but 3,2.

Lets flip that argument to Randle. Randle has certainly played as the only "big" on the floor. Since I saw him guarded by guys like Nurkic and Adams, I assumed he was playing 5. He's sort of small for a 5. But he can play it.

So, Knox can play "that other forward spot formerly known as 4" and Randle can play that other foward spot sometime referred to as "C"

Seems to fit a push the pace team where Knox gets SOME minutes at 4 and Randle at 5.

Knicks already have a ton of assets on team friendly deals and 7 1st round picks in the next 5 years. They need players to put around the kids to help get wins.
