I also wonder if Scoot, like Bryce Young, were 6'4" if there would even be a discussion.

Fischer reported that Scoot measured 6'4 in shoes. The 6'2 figure posted everywhere is clearly his barefoot height.

Most of these guys analyzing the draft are watching tape, not talking with GMs. Givony is the one who consistently tells us that he is directly communicating with NBA GMs, and hearing from them that they were disappointed in facets of Scoot’s play this past season. I presume Vecenie also has GM contacts but I don't subrscribe to Athletic so can't read his articles.

Comparing him standing next to Wemby to Jaden Ivey standing next to Wemby, he is around 6'4/6'3. They both come to roughly the same spot. Just below Wemby's shoulder.

"He boasts the explosiveness and athletic build of a bonafide franchise-caliber offensive engine, with Henderson measuring just under 6-foot-4 in shoes during visits with Portland and Charlotte."

"just under 6'4" in shoes" might mean "6'3.5" at best", but 6'2" barefoot with 6'3" or slightly more in shoes would still be great. Legit 6'3" with 6'9" wingspan (and already looking jacked at 200 lbs) is actually good size for a PG.

I agree let Mitch do his job, his best skill is evaluating/scouting players and he has a good track record. So let him do what he's good at and make the call.

My thoughts exactly. I don't care if our prospects pass the MJ sniff test, I don't know of any evidence that suggests that is a valuable characteristic.

Update

Woj and the draft insider just reported on ESPN that we are leaning Miller but Scoot did impress during his workou and they even said Miller workout wasn't as great as Scoot.

Seems like Miller was our target from day 1. Mitch was at his 41 point game vs SC.

If you're referring to the mock draft that went up on ESPN+, that was just Givony not Woj.

Regardless, none of those guys know what we're thinking.

Do you not here how crazy this sounds, Scoot had a better workout that impressed everyone and yet we still going with Miller. that doesnt make sense

Miller has more than likely been the pick all along. Can't let a single workout change that unless it was mind blowing. This "amazing" workout only came out after the Pelicans wanted to move up for Scoot as well.

Hell who knows what's going to happen. It'll be a fun next week.

Lol…
People keep posting articles with quotes saying most front offices have Miller BPA but yet we still have people posting Scoot propaganda.

I have not seen any articles saying that most FOs have Miller as BPA, care to share what you are referring to?

https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/insider/story/_/id/37822658/selecting-all-five-charlotte-hornets-2023-nba-draft-picks

"Most NBA teams we've spoken with have Miller over Henderson on their draft board, and it wouldn't surprise anyone if that is the direction the Hornets go on draft night.

Six-foot-9 wings who can initiate, find teammates off a live dribble with either hand, make shots from all over the floor and defend multiple positions are impossible to find in free agency or on the trade market. Having the ability to add that player via the draft, especially for a team like Charlotte, makes perfect sense considering the team's roster composition and the immense potential Miller shows."

I don't think Woj knows what we're going to do because at this point I don't believe our own FO actually knows what they are going to do, and even if they did they wouldn't be leaking it to Woj or Miller's agent.

right or wrong, we are about to get absolutely destroyed by the media and nba community. i know thats not a reason to alter a pick, but it would have been nice to not be on the **** side of the media for a few months.

miller better be the god damn second coming of paul george. i'm not down to draft rashard lewis at 2. nice player to be your 3rd option on a great team.

Again this sounds like nba team big boards, not some random mock draft.

It feels inevitable that we're about to pick the worst of 3 options.

- Trade #2 for a lot of stuff.
- Draft Scoot since he is largely considered BPA.
- Draft Miller since he is best fit.
