This trade proposal was on SI.com Hawks page. Do newspaper still have editors? (yes, news used to be printed on paper) This trade is worse than any fan proposal I see in a long time unless you are a Gobert hater. Post here for amusement. I would make the trade if Dallas include Copper to Minnesota

Atlanta Hawks Receive: Jaden McDaniels, Caleb Martin

Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: Terance Mann, Daniel Gafford, PJ Washington, Mo Gueye, 2025 1st round pick (via SAC, from ATL, #13), 2028 1st-round pick (via ATL, unprotected), 2031 first-round pick swap (via ATL)

Dallas Mavericks Receive: Rudy Gobert, Rob Dillingham, Vit Krejci, 2028 1st-round pick swap (via MIN)

I kept trying to figure out who Minnesota was getting back, or what, that was remotely close to what we were sending out? We don't need Mann, Gafford makes sense if Rudy goes, Washington no, Gueye no, pick 13...meh...

My question would be, why wouldn't we bypass Atl and just do Gobert for Gafford and ???

Too little for Zion? No need for DET at all? Would NOP just take Randle and Rob for themselves?

This for me would address A LOT of the biggest needs the Wolves have. Both Lonzo and Zion love to push the pace, love to put pressure on the rim, both are great passers and Rudy would finally have someone to throw him lobs.

Then if Fears is really falling that hard at #17 that'd be a homerun IMO.

Zion is tough to gauge value. There is no question about his talent, but dude has played: 24, 61, 0, 29, 70, and 30 games.

There is a good chance we get less than 50 games combined between Zion and Ball.

Not to mention Zion currently is facing accusations of rape, assault, and abuse.

On SI isn't really Sports Illustrated. Its their rebranded FanNation section. So I'm pretty sure its not really edited or vetted beyond anything beyond their publishing guidelines.

I'm sure any one of us could write "articles" for them...

I love Giannis but giving up Gobert, Randle, DDV, Naz, Minott, Dilly and all those picks for Giannis???? Come on! We're sending out 120 million. Ridiculous.

How about Gobert and Randle plus a pick. That's all I'd give up. OK you could throw in Minott too. How is Minott for a sweetner?

Going to have to blow the Bucks away to acquire him. We'd have money for some damn good FA too.

Randle and Jaden also works for Giannis...

Mike/Ant/Naz/Giannis/Rudy would be pretty dope.

I don't love Giannis and Rudy together. I think spacing would be a problem. But it would be hard to pass on that.

Yeah, Giannis IMO defacto is playing as bigman.

And he needs to not have a massive teammate in the lane. That's why he works so well with Lopez or Portis.

Better question is “What does Tim Connelly have on Jon Horst that would make him consider that deal?”

Yeah. Concur. Might be in minority but I'd give up Rudy and Jaden.

I think Vuc is underrated but that's not enough value for Gobert. I'm in the minority around here because I simply don't understand the infatuation with Lonzo Ball. Adding him to the roster is like putting a bandaid on a bandaid.

It’s not sexy and didn’t think about picks being involved. My thought was :
Breaking up big deal (Gobert) into smaller pieces.
Vuc provides spacing. Decent on D.
Vuc lets Naz start and deal gives us a little extra more $ for Naz deal.
Some had interest in Ball. He’s meh, but see it as hedge against Conley’s health and front office being reluctant about giving keys to Rob yet.
Money is off the books next year so hopefully Rob and the C we draft Wednesday would be ready.

But wasn’t thinking I came up with the perfect deal either :D

Lakers Are Favorites To Land Bam Adebayo In Potential Trade Deal With Heat

If MIA make Bam available I hope TC gets him.

BRO IN: Gobert, DDV, Robinson
BRO OUT: Cameron Johnson, Claxton, Whitehead, Lewis, 26th, 27th picks

Why for BRO: get a tradeable assets

MIA IN: Dillingham, Reid (sign-and-trade), Claxton, 17th, 27th picks, Whitehead, Lewis
MIA OUT: Bam, Robinson

Why for MIA: rebuild, trade Bam his extension

MIN IN: Bam, Johnson, 26th pick
MIN OUT: Gobert, DDV, Reid, Dillingham, 17th pick

Why for MIN: get long-term solution at C, replace DDV with comparable shooter, but at SF/PF position, get additional pick. Stay in win-now mode

Re-sign both Randle, NAW. Draft Walter Clayton Jr., and Kalkbrenner at 26 and 31.

Bam/Kalkbrenner/Miller
Randle/Johnson/McDaniels
McDaniels/TJ/Minott
Edwards/Clark/NAW
NAW/WCJ/Conley

Oh please, Oh please, Oh please, I want that. Because I want it that bad, it won't happen. Miami loves Bam too much.
