May have to annul my previous statement of the Spurs not being a fringe contender this season. They might just be a really good and balanced team. Doing all of this while their highest paid guy (Fox) hasn't even stepped on the court yet is pretty impressive.

Absolutely. That said Edgecombe is averaging 25/6/6

These guys could turn into Brandon Jennings over the next couple months. But it doesn’t feel that way at the moment. This draft is impacting the trajectories of four franchises in the first week.

I don’t think it’s impacting the trajectories at all. We’re a week in. It’s a small, largely irrelevant sample size.

Wild to me that Edgecombe wasn’t consensus #2 guy in this draft.

I think it took guts for them to take Kon over Ace Bailey. They should be happy.

Let’s watch it play out. If I’m a Dallas fan or even a Spurs fan I’m wondering about Edgecombe at the moment.

No way the Spurs are wondering. Harper has been excellent.

Ace Bailey is the Angel Reese of the NBA. Guy is dumb.

I just assumed people were being hyperbolic until I saw the highlights and stat sheet but woof, Kyshawn George going one pick after Horst blew it on AJ Johnson already looks like an all-time draft blunder. Dude looks like a Middleton clone out there.

I loved him coming out, and liked what I saw from him last year quite a bit, but I had no inkling that he'd be this good this fast. He looks like he could be a perennial all-star. This could be an early season overreaction but apart from what he's shooting from 3, what he does on the court seems pretty durable to me. Plus he's exactly what we need on the roster. Man.

I only passively watched some of 4th quarters of Wiz games last year against our competitors and he was very much on the periphery so this development surprises me.

Reminder that second year Flip Murray went for 23/4/4 for October and all of November before the clock hit 12.

Until the league sees guys and comes up with some plan to approach them defensively, you can get anomalies. Hell, as soon as Eric Bledsoe put the defend Harden from behind film up in late 2019, his time as a top tier player was essentially over (yes, this is [mostly] a joke, don’t @me)

Hell, Baddy averaged 22/4/5 in November of his rookie year. We know how that ended.

Jrue having a great start to the season. Have to wonder which contender ends up with him.

Whichever one still wants to cover 3/100

And has assets and ~30m in less useful salary to send out. I think he stays in Portland.

Jrue is probably the backup plan for Houston to dump FVV's contract on. Just depends on whether or not Portland is still gonna stubbornly stick to this play-in or bust plan.

I was shocked when we didn't draft him. Literally the perfect guy to follow on from Midds

Oh, wow, that's the guy picked after him? I remember being very disappointed when watching his highlight reel on draft night. And so far this season, he's had two very good games. Clearly a player.

Heat are crushing it atm. Philly looks pretty good with Embiid off too. Play a lot faster and more direct with Maxey running the show.

The Heat have peaked my interest. They have a bunch of quality guys that play both ways. Them being gifted Powell was a game changer. They are off to a hot start without Herro's scoring.
