Yeah, that was a touching moment. Johnson spiked his helmet and it hit TP. TP apparently does not enjoy getting hit by helmets.

Henderson Alvarez just threw nine no-hit innings for the Marlins BUT it's a 0-0 game headed to the bottom.

He's only at 99 pitches, so he could come back in for the tenth if he's needed.

Henderson Alvarez just threw a no-hitter. It was won in the bottom of the ninth with a based loaded walk-off wild pitch.

Craziest ending I've ever seen in a baseball game.

Well the Cubbies were predictably useless. LA it is. Both teams have played poorly in September. On paper you probably gotta go with the Dodgers, but the Braves have been getting it done against the odds all season. It's crazy for a 96-66 team to lead in DL stints, have such a young pitching staff, and have two everyday players batting under .200. Anything can happen once the playoffs start. I know we're due for some good luck.

I'll be at Turner Field on Friday. Can't wait.

That was bizarre.

On the Dodgers playing poorly in September:

Hanley has a back injury. Puig has a hip injury. They've missed time this month and after we won the division Mattingly started really giving them days off to heal.

Kershaw, Greinke and the bullpen have pitched fine.

Not saying it's a smart idea to ever bring ur team to a grinding halt as mattingly has done....but i'm not putting that much stock into our .500 (give or take a game) record in September.

interested to see how we respond to the challenge this week.

Braves Dodgers
Cards v. PIT/Cin

Detroit Oakland
Sox v. Cleveland/ TB v. Tex

business is about to pick up really quick.
interested in all the match ups....and hoping Francona has a chance to compete against his former club.

Cubs just fired Dale Sveum.

I'm praying to Cthulu that Girardi bolts for his dream job.

A play in game for a play in game...awesome. Why not just apply tiebreakers...

I guess...

Prediction time...I think the AL is all Tigers. NL is more up in the air, but it's hard to bet against the Dodgers with Kershaw and Grienke at the top. Pulling for the two wild card teams there though. I'll go with Tigers over Dodgers in 6.

I want Pirates vs. A's.

We'll get Cardinals vs. Tigers and be bored out of our minds.

Can't wait for the Braves vs. Dodgers series. We can't afford to drop the first two at home (I say this because of Kershaw and Grienke). Hopefully Mike Minor regains the sharpness he had for most of the season before September and that Kris Medlen continues to dominate

Martin just got away with a trap to end the inning. If the Rangers come back and win, I would absolutely flip a sh*t if I were the Rays.

Yeah I'm pulling for Oakland and Cleveland in the AL, although really as long as it's not Boston I don't really mind who wins it.

NL I can't stand any of the three division winners. Pulling for whoever wins the play in game, would love to see Cincy win it as they're there every year and always seem to fall short.

I don't have any problems with any of the NL teams. I'd love to see the Pirates win since they're... The Pirates.

I know a lot of people round here dislike the Dodgers, but it'd be something if Clayton Kershaw could just continue being lights out and carrying them to the promised land. I wouldn't have any issues watching Yaisel Puig do more crazy sh*t in October.
