Out of Tretter, Sitton, Lang, Lacy, Bahktiari, Barrington, Hyde, and Pennel I am willing to bet 5 of them have career years because this is their big payday.

This is why Ted refuses to be stupid in free agency. Hopefully people see that and appreciate it instead of whining.

You can participate in free agency without being stupid. Nobody complains about him not being Snyder. That was never the argument, ever.

The Saints had possibly the worst defense in NFL history last year partially due to the terrible cap situation they were in.

IMO I may have let Starks walk and picked up an external ILB or DL or something like that...I do get that beef with Ted's stragegy, but there are definitely consequences even for small signings when you're pushed to the limit.

Yes, because the decision whether to sign Karlos Dansby to a one-year for roughly 2-3 million with a team 10 million or so under the cap is roughly the same as a country currently 20 trillion in debt.

Stop pretending a couple of one-year deals totalling around six million would at all significantly alter our future.

Small things can add up. Sign Dansby and another guy and you tap into that bank we have where we might use it to extend Lang or Sitton early. If Dansby goes all Jeff Saturday and is complete trash at this point, you have even worse problems at ILB and have even more work to the future of filling said position.

I absolutely wouldn't complain with said move, but it's not a nothing move. Cincinnati spent the same amount of money on AJ Hawk last year. Would you call that a smart move?

Let me be clear. The Bengals are out exactly $700,000 if he doesn't make the team. If he performs very well the max is 2.25 million--well worth it for a Superbowl contender.

If we had signed him to that contract in absolutely no shape or form does he impact what we do next season. In absolutely no way, shape or form. Saturday or no Jeff Saturday.

If you want to pretend it does, fine. Then we'll go to the next level--most of us would rather not sign Lane Taylor or James Starks (pick one) to have even a puncher's chance of upgrading at ILB.

Demetri Goodson suspended for 4 games for PEDs.

Hope that's the end of him on the roster

You'd think he would be. Goodson's pretty replaceable.

I guess the thought is to give Taylor/Barclay one last chance to make the jump, since there is likely to be openings next year. Still...since we are obviously going to draft some linemen this year, and we already have eight now...

Would have been a natural time to cut ties with Barclay and Taylor and let the rookies and Tretter backup the line past the top 5. Still, can't imagine Barclay even makes it if he doesn't really impress in camp.

Now we'll probably sign Neal, and then I'll have to listen why ILB help is somehow unaffordable for us but signing four mediocre at best backups plus Perry at stronger positions is affordable. For some reason.

They didn't even bother to tender this guy Mccray:

http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_29782223/lerentee-mccray-leaves-broncos-signs-green-bay-packers
Another former Broncos defender has moved on in free agency. Outside linebacker Lerentee McCray signed contract with the Green Bay Packers Monday, an NFL source confirmed.

McCray was a restricted free agent, but the Broncos did not tender him an offer, allowing him to sign freely with another team.

McCray played in 24 regular-season and four postseason games for the Broncos over the past two seasons totaling 24 tackles, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble.

He joined the Broncos in 2013 as an undrafted free agent spending his rookie season on injured reserve with an ankle injury before making the roster as a reserve outside linebacker over the past two seasons.

The Broncos' depth at outside linebacker with Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware, Shane Ray and Shaquil Barrett presented an uphill challenge for McCray to get playing time if he would have returned.

Not complaining, glad they brought someone in. Can't be worse than our Nate Palmer types.

The Josh Boyd release surprised me. His knee must be really messed up considering how thin we are at the position.

I'm thinking Ladarius Gunter and Makinton Dorleant make the final roster at CB.

Shields
Randall
Rollins
Gunter
Dorleant

With the suspension looming and DG not being any good, I'm sure he'll fall out of favor and won't make the roster.

Who knows though, weve sure had our fair share of terrible football players get ample opportunity to continue being terrible... Brad Jones sure comes to mind. Goodson may end up the starter for all we know if he compliments MM enough times on looking slimmed down during TC.

Aaron Rodgers attended Randall Cobb's college graduation ceremony. Good for Cobb and I can't help but think it's pretty cool Aaron showed up to support his receiver.
