Raptors mod here.

DeMar DeRozan, SG

24 yrs old

9.5M per season deal started this year for the next 4.

21.5-3.1-3.6 as a SG 43%/35% (better from the corners), and numbers were improving even before dumping Rudy. Even better since. (27-5-6 tonight)

Good team guy, never gets hurt, west coast guy so would probably like being closer to home. Dying to be on a playoff team.

What would he be worth to you? And might you also like his buddy and great value two-way analytics hero PF/C Amir Johnson (17.5 PER, good by basically every metric, 2nd in the NBA in FG% in the paint, 6.5M for the next two years.)? I personally like both and so does the team. But we're going down before we go up.

We just started a massive tank and are aiming for hometown Wiggins but Masai is hunting for more picks as well. You guys have damn near cornered the market on mid 1sts that might be in play.

Thoughts?

Okafor + multiple picks for both works from a salary perspective.
Raptors Season Ticketholder since the 2000 playoffs, through all the lows... build to the championship high... to Tampa and back again.
RIP The Hater - we miss you.

I found it interesting, hence the hmph. I don't see much available to even consider a move at this point. The only 2 "impact" guy I could see possibly coming available are Love and Melo. Melo is a turd and I have zero interest in him. Love on the other hand is someone I'd definitely pursue.

Love will not be on the radar so long as the Wolves are close to playoff territory. He has two more years with the Wolves after this season. If they fall out of contention by February I could see them moving Love for lots of picks. But I hate mid-season trades because the receiving team generally loses in the chemistry department.

Really who else could we trade with? Has to be a non-playoff team with a star player. Right now that would be Love, Dirk, Melo. Who else fits the bill? Love would be the only one who I would consider giving away picks. Otherwise wait until next year and try to pick up one as a FA.

Depends on what McD considers a star, he might bait Utah into trading Hayward, maybe he goes for Monroe, maybe it does eventually lead to Love or something. I have no idea but I do know they will be young and I trust in McD to make the right trade.

Don't want DeRozan cause we don't need anymore guards and he would be paid too much to come off the bench.

Love Amir Johnson. Frye and Indiana first round pick for him? Plus fillers like Okafor if needed.

OKC goes all in for this season.

Suns out:
Okafor/Green/Krav/Indy First
Suns in:
Turner/Perkins

Turner becomes in instant upgrade a the SF slot. a future lineup when healthy would be Len/Plumlee/Turner/Dragic Bledsoe. Even with the addition of Perkins terrible contract we would be looking at a payroll of just under $63mil next season if we extend Turner and Bledsoe to 5 year $55mil contracts, including our cap holds for the upcoming draft. not to say that we would or should extend either to something like that, but even if their extensions get larger than that, we arent crippling ourselves cap wise.

OKC out:
Perkins/Lamb/Adams or Mavs 2014 First
OKC in:
Hawes/Green/Krav

OKC goes all out for a shot this season. Hawes is an INSTANT substantial upgrade at the C position. Green gives them an adequate backup/starter at the SG slot to replace Lamb. They rid themselves of Perkins nasty contract at the cost of a young promising player or a first.

Sixers out:
Hawes/Turner
Sixers in:
Okafor/Lamb/Indy First/Adams or Mavs 2014 First

Philly started strong and has fizzled out a bunch. They should probably look at THE TANK. Dropping Hawes/Turner drops them to the bottom of the league. Lamb gives them a young player to pair with MCW in their back court, and the addition of Adams gives them a young C to build with and a late first, or 2 additional first rounders to go along with their own and New Orleans pick which they are likely going to get.

The Suns are looking for a star. We are not gonna waste our assets to add anyone who isn't better than our 2 best players (and DD and Amir definitely aren't better than Dragic and Bledsoe).

Why is hawks in this trade, why does minnesota want horford.

Why not minny - suns direct trade then, if they are scared of Love leaving, then that proposed suns package seems more valuable to wolves vision of moving forward without love.

1. because it's what I did in NBA 2K... (Forced trade)
2. because Love tells Wolves to trade him or he will leave when his option is up.
3. because Hawks decides to sell Horford and get picks, reduce salary and not drop off much...

Nice one but I`d rather give Minny pick instead of Plumlee.

IDK, the Bledsoe/Dragic backcourt has been working out great for us, so i dont see how we could really benefit from taking on DeRozan. Can he play SF at all?

It does seem like we might be looking into packaging our picks for a player or two, this was posted on Twitter earlier today:

Scott Howard-Cooper: When I talked to GM Ryan McDonough, he said the Suns prefer to package picks, maybe even before the trade deadline. PHX wants impact now. Twitter @SHowardCooper

If DeRozan can play SF, i would be open to Okafor/Green/MIN 1st for DeRozan/Johnson.

Dragic/Goodwin/Smith
Bledsoe/Tucker/Christmas
DeRozan/Morris
Johnson/Morris
Plumlee/Frye/Len

I wasn't laughing but cringing...

Have no choice... Unless Kravtsov shows some sort of signs he can play 30 minutes and not get crushed.

Eventually suns have gotta play ther 5th pick... Especially if Plumlee is traded.

You guys have to be a kittke realistic. First Love isnt going anywhere this year....anywhere. The wolves know this guy is a superstar and they will do everything in their power to keep him; and thatbmeans waiting until the last day of his contract and asking for every assesst you have and more. Second, give Len a chance the guy is 20 and there is no reason to play him, thus we arent....Plumlee changed the need for us to play him. Third....Hayward is the most realistic.

For those of you crying about him not being the one to get us a title....he makes us better and thats what matters . There is no championship piece that exists and waiting for us to attain, we have to get as good as we can and go from there.

I agree. There is no chance Love is getting moved this season, even though Wolves are struggling.

Listening to McD yesterday talking about trading one or two picks the first player who came to mind to me is exactly Hayward. He would look very good in Suns` system, can spread the floor, create a little bit, is athletic, young...

I disagree. No team is going to give up lots of draft picks for a possible half season rental on Love. I agree this year is unlikely unless the T-Wolves start losing badly. Next year is a whole different story and I would guess he could be acquired this summer. Otherwise the T-Wolves are looking at the Amare scenario where they get nothing for Love.

I like DeRozan but he's not worth the 9.5 mill he's making, and the quickest way to lock yourself into mediocrity is to cap out on 3rd bananas getting almost 10 mill a year. A 15 mill a year guy is worth a lot more than two 10 mill a year guys, IMO.

Sure you deal picks if a game changer is available but otherwise I sit back and see where this team is around the deadline. If they are well over .500 then you think about dealing for guys like Amir Johnson.

And no thanks on derozen. His best position is the 2 and with the Bledsoe extension coming no reason to tie up that much long term money.

If Hornacek has any say on this matter he is doing everything he can to get his boy Hayward on the team. I wouldnt be surprised if we go all out trying to get him. Just dont goran for him or give him a max is all i ask

From all indications, the Suns are willing to give the farm up for Kevin Love. Yes, that even includes our 1st round pick. Hayward is their second option.

As a Suns fan, what are you willing to give up for Kevin Love? ( No Dragic, Bledsoe , Goodwin, or Plumlee)
