Can we pick one of these two up through a trade to start at SF?

We had a chance to trade for Jones when Durant/Westbrook went down

Jones only had a few good games, maybe OKC sees the opportunity to cash in

Monroe, Singler, Datome
for
PJ3, Perkins, McGary

I dont see OKC doing it but it would be a nice trade for us

I don't like either trade personally.

I would actually make this trade but the Bucks decline. Sanders is a very good defender but has some character issues and Parker has Melo potential. I would rather have Melo & Tyson Chandler than Dwight.

Doesn't PJ3 have an insane injury history? I thought it was never really his ability that kept him from being able to play.

Ugh.... we are thinking the same. I wish we could pull this trade. maybe even throw in a second player. Hammond is clearly building a much better team then what we have. And when he lands another top 3 pick... :nonono:

they will look good with that premier power guard / forward added to their roster.

Thinking the bucks would decline is saying to me that as a fan base we have over-hyped dre.

Don't bash if this has been brought up but Singler and JJ for Wilson Chandler? Saves them a million and a half now and gets them out of his contract. Still gives them a backup to Gallinari and Faried.
Or when Butler is available (Dec15th?) we could trade him to Denver or to Boston with JJ for Jeff Green

I loved this article: http://grantland.com/the-triangle/perry ... er-savior/
and would like if either Drummond or KCP took that kind of leap in on-court personality.
Also why the Thunder are not going to trade him.

Yeah (not bashing), the strong majority of the forum have tried to find a way to either get Chandler or Green to Detroit since early last season. I think now it is just an over exaggerated "solution" to our problems. The first one makes a bit of sense, more-so than the second one. Welcome to the forum :).

I don't Drum is overrated except maybe a tad by Pistons fans. The guy is a top-10 (if not top-5) asset in the league.
Jabari Parker looks overrated and I would say no to that deal (it also needs some tweaking to meet the trade rules, but that isn't near the main idea.)

The Wilson Chandler and Jeff Green ideas are okay, but I hope we do something better.

In my fantasy land (Idk how "logical" it really is and I definitely don't speak for the whole Detroit board), I'd do: Smith+Jennings for JJ (we get out of Smith's contract 1 year early) and Jerebko+Datome for Jack (they get out of Jacks contract 2 years early). Really **** with the post depth, but I do like that a lot more than what I'm currently looking at in Detroit .
Drummond / Anthony
Monroe / Martin
JJ / Butler / Singler
Meeks / KCP
Jack / Augustin

I'd actually do this trade. Sandesr is a top defender at his position and his off-court drama last year wasn't even too bad. Stan can make him work harder. And I like Jabari's potential too as a SF/PF which is clearly what we need more.

Here is a more realistic deal:

Pistons get: Jabari, Ilyasova, Sanders

Bucks get: Smith, Drummond, Jerebko, Singler

Why for Bucks? Giannis can play SF and Drummond is the most coveted young big man behind Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins. Bucks save 2M this year and 7M a year for the next two years by dumping Sanders/Ilyasova.

Why for Pistons? Get a starting SF and a defensive anchor to hide Monroe's defensive deficiencies after they sign him to a max deal this summer.

Jennings / Augustin
Meeks / KCP
Jabari / Butler - Martin
Monroe / Ilyasova
Sanders / Anthony

No. That's a terrible lineup.

This is my blow it up, start over and build around Drummond idea.

Trade 1 - J-Smoove and Datome to the Lakers for Nash.

Trade 2 - Jennings and Monroe to OKC for PJ3, Perkins, Jackson, and a pick.

Jackson / DJ / Dinwiddie
KCP / Meeks
Singler / Martin (2015 pick will help)
PJ3 / JJ / Mitchell
Drummond

....and a TON of cap space to play with.

Golden State has been playing very well but now instead of the odd man out being Harrison Barnes it seems to be Iguodala and his 12.5M contract.

Smith, Monroe, Singler, Datome, Mitchell
for
Iguodala, Lee

Iguodala is 2M cheaper than Smith and Lee expires after next season

Jennings/Augustin
KCP/Meeks
Iguodala/Martin-Butler
Lee / Jerebko
Drummond / Anthony

If anything like this happens, which it won't, it'll be Barnes coming. No way do we make any significant moves that brings us aging players on their way down. When Dre puts it together, hopefully, these two will be gone and old.

I know Stan has said Jeff Bower is the GM and he sets up the moves. It's just Dtan puts his stamp of approval on it before it's official. This was the case with drafting Dinwiddie. Does anyone know if Bower liked to wheel and deal when he was running the Hornets or did he sit in his thumbs like Dumars?

Nobody can sit on their hands and do nothing better than Dumars...

Smith is basically untradeable at this point. Iguodala is the absolute best value we could ever hope for in a trade for Josh and he is 2M cheaper. We are stuck with Smith anyways might as well get a player that plays in a position we desperately need.

Lee is productive if he can stay healthy. Next year he expires and we can use his money to go after another young PF to put next to Drummond. Last year he put up 18/9 in 33 minutes and only missed 11 games.

And why wouldnt this trade happen? For Golden State it is a no brainer. Iguodala is putting up 6 pts, 3 rebounds, 3 assists in 30 minutes. Not exactly gigantic shoes to fill if Green and Barnes cover his absence. Golden State gets rid of Iggy's contract and possibly has enough to resign Monroe. Monroe/Smith >>>>>> Lee. Also Golden State looks unstoppable right now and adding Monroe/Smith, two bigs that can actually stay healthy, could be the extra push they need to make the WCF / Finals.

Here's my final draft of my awful experience on the Taint Board in the past week. :)

1. Smoove for Jason Thompson and Derrick Williams

2. Waive Tony Mitchell

3. Det out: Jennings, Meeks, Martin, DRUMMOND
Det in: Ennis, G.Green, Len, Pho 1st '15, Pho 2nd '15, Min 1st (two 2nds), LAL 1st, 2 Phi 2nd's, Bogdan

Phi out: Two 2nd's
Phi in: Jennings, Plumlee

Pho out: Ennis, G.Green, Plumlee, Len, 1st '15, 2nd '15, Min 1st(two 2nds), LAL 1st, Bogdan
Pho in: Meeks, Martin, Drummond

4. Draft Day - consolidate 2nd's/Bogdan/Pho1st. And just hope to get 3 nice lotto 1st's in 2015.

5. goodbye: Butler, Williams, Datome, Jerebko, Anthony

6. re-sign: Green, Singler, MONROE

Ennis/Augustin
KCP/Dinwiddie
Green/Singler
Monroe
Len/JT
Three lotto picks.

7. Sign a vet or 2 or 3. Maybe with actual cap space, but maybe not.

The team would be okay, but with potential to become elite. Also, waaaaay more watchable.

Return to Detroit Pistons
