I didn’t see anyone calling for last year’s playoffs to be called off when half the Warriors’ team got injured and missed games.

THIS.

What did I feel when cp3 got injured when I felt that they were about to win over GSW?
What did I fell when GSW played without Klay and KD and with a walking wounded Steph?

I guess going to a rally is less than dangerous than being held hostage inside Disney World...

Probably is less dangerous. Studies show outside transmission is tiny and a rally like that you probably aren't in proximity to the same people for long periods.

Prolonged time spent indoors, hot sweaty environments, lots of physical contact. Plus the bubble essentially acts like the cruise ships, once its in, it spreads quickly.

But in actual answer, black rights are infinitely more important than a few games of basketball. So the comparison of risk is stupid.

I only hope that everyone who props up Jordan as the ultimate competitor also holds it against anyone who sits out and vise versa.

This means we (I am in CA) need to wear masks in the public such as parks or when going for a walk?

I already do anyways, but I see many who don't. Many people go to private stores w/o masks as well

That's the thing. Nobody is being forced. No one has to go to Orlando if they want to sit out for the protests. The ones who don't want to play can't turn it around and force everyone else to sit. That's the irony of the situation here

They are docking pay for anyone who doesn’t play. So yeah, they are forcing black people to risk their Health and do it in Florida where it is a **** show.

I'm fine if they want to have summer league in orlando, but it's not crazy to point out that this is expected to be an active storm season. They could have picked a better location, like you know anywhere but florida :)

What other spots would have the benefits Disney World offers in regards to sports venues (Wide World of Sports) and hotels/accommodations (30,000 hotel rooms at the resort at over 25 resorts)?

They didn't pick Disney because of where it is, but what it offers. It is essential to the return to play proposal.

Well someone earlier pointed out utah still has the facilities from the winter games a few years back which would have given then more room, more courts, and certainly better weather while in a state doing better with corona. Sure, I doubt nba players are jumping for joy over utah, but it's a start. I'm not sure where else as frankly I don't know anything at all about disney world. And why do they need hotels large enough for 30k people? Seems excessive.

Seems like the obvious choice would be somewhere in Canada.

I almost couldn't tell if this was a joke. Where in Canada specifically?

Why would it be a joke? Canada seems like the obvious choice because of their vastly superior handling of COVID-19 compared to the US. I figured a large city like Toronto or Vancouver has facilities that could handle this.

We've done a pretty good job up here in terms of handling the virus.

I believe the NHL is still finalizing which cities they will consider for Hub-Cities. Vancouver / Toronto / Edmonton are all on the list, but I'm not sure any of those cities have enough basketball courts available (required) to do what they are planning to do in Orlando. Vancouver might have some of those facilities from the 2010 Olympics available though, but I'm not exactly sure.

I'm sitting here laughing imagining all of the NBA players stuck up in Edmonton for the rest of the summer. I think many would probably prefer the bubble in Orlando

Can't imagine why they'd be worried about heading to Florida

why dont they just go to Australia, NZ, Europe, Canada or where ever i dont care, then they wont have to fear as much and wont have to live in a bubble.

They'll be separated from the public. I think they'll work out something with the employees to stay inside the bubble too.

I think Canada has done a great job at mitigating the virus. I do think it'll eventually breakout there too. Two months ago we were talking about the great job Russia and India was doing.

Why would these countries risk their publics health so NBA can play some games?
