I get the appeal of AJJ, but he definitely still has a ways to go. A stat I found interesting: In 206 minutes this year, he has committed 38 fouls. In those same minutes, he has 5 total steals and blocks (and they're all steals). That is 1:7.6 stock-to-foul ratio on the season. Not great, Bob.

completely agree. right now hes basically a rookie version of thanasis defensively

theres a ton of upside there tho

With the fouls, obviously hes brand new so theres some learning to do. But im not really concerned with high fouls in low minutes. He knew he was only playing 10-15 so he could be more aggressive. When he started recently and played 30+, his foul rate declined drastically and he made it practically the whole game before fouling out. Ive heard him talk about defense and you can tell he loves the process of figuring all this stuff out, so i think its just a matter of time. Also, I recently saw some UConn fan on twitter talking about how Andre couldn't stay on the court because of fouls his freshman year, but by his sophomores year had figured it out. ...so thats good

The part that does concern me is his lack of blocks and potentially his inability to bother shooters on contests. Often, i see him in pretty good position, but his man still makes the bucket. Its like watching pj on kd in the playoffs. Obviously, theres a long way to go, but this is my only real concern at this time.

I have a crazy ass idea.

PG13 for Middleton, Portis, Beauchamp, Bucks 2027 2nd

Thybulle for Pat, Portland 2024 2nd

Payne for Wes Matthews

Sign Stanley Johnson & Boogie Cousins

Brook/Boogie/RoLo
Giannis/Crowder/Johnson/Thanasis
PG/Matthews
Thybulle/Beasley/Green
Dame/AJJ
still learning the game

PG13 games played last 4 seasons - 56, 31, 54, 48. No thanks on that risk even with Middleton's injury history.

I'd trade Middleton/Bobby/Marjon for PG in a heartbeat, but I think we can close the door on any panic trades by the Clippers at this point. They've turned it around and the only dude they're probably looking to move is PJ.

Another name to throw out there, but I have no idea what it would take to get him, in part because he’s a rotation guy on the #1 team in the league: NAW.

Sadly it feels like he's established himself in their rotation so I doubt he's gettable anymore, but if there's a way to turn Marjon/Livingston/2nd's into NAW, then that's a home-run.

That would be wonderful for us, but I don’t know why Minnesota would do it. If there’s a pathway, it would likely involve either pat or Bobby with Minnesota’s rationale being acquiring championship experience.

If I believe hard enough, I could see it. They’re new owners likely looking to further make a splash, but it’s hard to breakup the leagues good vibes team.

I'd be surprised if we moved any of the core 4. I still think one or two of the young Bucks may be out of here around the deadline.

Still wanna know what the deal is with Reggie Bullock over in Houston. Have a hard time believing the dude is just completely cooked less than a year after being a 30-MPG starter for Dallas. He's the most obvious potential 2019-20 Wes Matthews guy to get for cheap.

I've brought this up too, I've heard he's lost a lot defensively but playing for an actual contender and not needing to contribute much on offense has ways of hiding that.

If I was a Celtic's fan watching Andre Jackson on the Bucks I would be like.....****, I can't believe those lucky bastards got a guy like that in the 2nd round.

Yep. Wouldn’t be a bad idea at all. With Payne slumping as bad as he’s been and the fact he’s only really playable if he’s scoring, Rubio would be an upgrade as the backup PG and also someone you can play in a wide variety of lineups. If he’s still got some juice left, keeping that dream alive is logical and hopefully realistic.

The two players that we can easily replace and not miss a bit ... are Brook and Pat.
Brook can be replaced with more Portis minutes and more Giannis at the 5 minutes and Pat can be replaced with more AJJ , Beasley usage ...

who is the best we can get with those salaries added ?
I am down getting ex Boston's Smart + Grant Williams for example

Have grown a great appreciation of Brook and how much he bails out everyone else on the floor. I do wish he was a little more spry but he continues to be our most important defender. I don't see a scenario where moving him makes sense.
