I’d have to watch more before fully endorsing the idea. Probably a little optimistic that he’s got that much growth ahead still. But I don’t write him off for bad playoff outing his first go at it. We don’t need him to be a 1a like Houston did, but we do need him to play smarter and better on D.

I am all in on Naji Marshall. Can see him becoming a Boris Diaw type of player.

Think he has the tools to be an all league defender, big enough to take pressure off Tatum defensively, Shot is looking better, but plays a smart game with advanced playmaking and advanced finishing at the rim.

Agreed . He’d be a nice get in a Jrue trade. Dallas may or may not prefer that to PJ. Just makes the money harder. Need to add OMP in addition to Powell. So, I guess not that hard, lol.

The more I think about Naji, the more I see a likeness to Derick White.

Does everything but shoot, but the form is there for shooting..

Grizz Starting 5 Edey-JJJ-Cam Johnson-Bane-Pippen

C's payroll for 25/26 is down to 208mil

Saric is a player option but he can fill a role as a depth big.

Whitehead and Clowney have team options in 26/27 so they can be moved after this season.

Aldama can be given a contract after this season.

Trade Tillman and comfortably get under the 2nd apron

Keep #28 and #32 and maybe bring back Luke

Neems-Aldama-JB-Jrue-White
Clowney-Luke- Rookie big-PP-Rico-Peterson-Whitehead-JD-Norris

If there's a year to give Neems a chance to start it's this year.

You're really stuck on getting Morant in Brooklyn and Aldama in Boston.

Yup and I'm trying to avoid attaching a pick with KP.

Cam Johnson is a good pick up for the Grizz also.

All the teams payroll work out also

Sam would thrive in Brooklyn. I bet he has a big year.

Heat get Bogdanovic, Carter (little side note, Heat favorite Dragic once called Bogdanovic the NBA's most underrated Euro player)

Clips get Jrue #28

Bulls 25/26 starting 5 - Collins-Williams-Buzelis-Herro-White

Heat 25/26 starting 5 - Ware-Bam-Wiggins-Bogdanovic-Mitchell

Clips 25/26 starting 5 - Zubac-Kawhi-Powell-Jrue-Harden

C's, Nets, Pistons, Grizz

C's get Aldama, Simone, Whitehead

Nets get Morant future 1st's from Pistons

Pistons get Cam Johnson, Clowney

Grizz get Porzingis, Stewart, Keon Johnson, #8

Pistons 25/26 starting 5 - Duren-Harris-Cam-Ausar-Cade

Grizz 25/26 starting 5 - Edey-KP-JJJ-Bane-Pippen Jr

----------------------------------------

Trade Tillman and payroll is down to 207mil for 25/26 season

The payroll in 26/27 minus Jrue is down to 164mil. Dunn and Whiteheads contracts are team options so turn them down. Sign Aldama to a contract to fill the PF/C spot for the next few years. IMO, he's a safer bet then the 28th pick.

C's roster for 25/26

Vucevic-Aldama-JB-White-Pritchard
Neems-Batum-Sam-Rico-Dunn
Whitehead-Fontecchio-Peterson-Norris

2way the 32nd pick

Go into 26/27 season with JT-JB-White-Sam-PP-Aldama-Rico-Neems-Peterson and they still have all their picks for the 26' draft.

Just saying....

Get under the apron, White and JB stay, lots of room in 26/27, get Aldama who is young and has been productive and keep #32 (maybe Broome to fill in the frontcourt)

all that for

#28 and a season with Vucevic, Batum, Dunn and Fontecchio (who are all expiring or team options)

I think all the teams involved make out pretty well :dontknow:

:)

Another trade that works out without moving White or JB

Bogdanovic is a solid pick-up for the Heat. Miami fans loved Dragic. Dragic is a big fan of Bogdanovic.

Vucevic would be a good stop gap for a year before JT comes back in 26'.

Agreed. Bunch of posters don't like him but he plays 70+ games a year and is a double double machine. Defense is iffy, but you can't have everything.

I'm sure Jrue would love going back home to LA. An LA reunion with Jrue, Kawhi and Powell. If they can stay healthy that's a pretty good group with Harden and Zubac.

These trades are all kosher when it comes to apron and cap. All the teams end up in a good spot cap and apron wise. I think each team got a little better depending on what better is. For the C's I wanted to get a pick in the lottery, get a little younger and get under the 2nd apron. Players will need to be waived but I'm not going that deep with it.

5 team deal

C's get Niang, Sheppard, #10 and #26 I WANT A PICK IN THE LOTTERY THIS YEAR :D

Hawks get Cameron Johnson, Whitehead, #13

Nets get Simons, Aaron Holiday, #11, #28 and future 1st from Hawks

Rockets get White, #27

Blazers get Pritchard, Okongwu, #19, #22

C's get down to 207.5mil
-----------------------------------------------------------
3 team deal

C's get Jones Jr, Batum, RWill and #30

Clips get Jrue and #26

Blazers get Dunn and Eubanks

C's now down to 203mil

Sign Luke to a minimum contract

With the 10th pick look at Sorber, Khaman, Queen, Newell, Demin, Traore

With the 30th pick look at Philon, Pettiford

Porzingis/Luke/Neems/RWill/Sorber
Sam/Batum/Niang
JB/Jones/Peterson
Sheppard/Rico/
JD/Philon or Pettiford

It's not a pretty team by any stretch but not having JT allows there to be some reason to digress a little. It should all be about 26/27 and beyond. I think the bench is pretty athletic.

For the 26/27 season the under contract players would be JT/JB/Jones Jr/Luke/Sam/Peterson/Rico/Sheppard/JD/2 rookie deals. Room to go out and sign some players.

When JT and JB are 29 and 28 having a young group of Sorber, Sheppard, Rico, Philon or Pettiford could be a nice foundation. A couple of lottery players (Sorber before his injury and Sheppard) without having to tank.

People don't want to move White, but #10 and Sheppard ain't too shabby.

Sneaky move getting Pritchard back in his hometown and Okonkgwu is a good player who fits well with Billups.

Jalen Green is just a good regular season performer against the Char, Was, Brk, Phil, NO etc. Gets exposed in the playoffs. Celtics should stay far away. Jalen Green would be perfect for a team like the Atlanta Hawks, a team that is never going anywhere.

I'm back.....

Bingo !!

Sean Marks - "Sure we'll take on a 30mil contract for a guy who can't stay healthy and is getting over an unknown viral illness that caused him to have breathing issues just because we have 100mil space. And oh yeah, he wants to play for Latvia this summer. Sign me up."

The Nets probably would like to get a salary dump from a player who will get fans in the seats.

That's why the idea of Morant going there is a good one.

I'm a New Yorker, they like shiny things that sell jerseys.

Lakers are trying to contend next year and desperately need a big.

Mavs are trying to contend next year and need a PG.

Magic are trying to win and desperately need shooting.

We can send KP to Lakers, Jrue to Dallas and Hauser to Orlando..without having to give up any draft compensation.

We can clear cap space and get some useful rotation players back..and keep our picks - draft 1 or 2 solid players next month.

Set ourselves up for a bridge year next season (possibly end up in the lottery where we can maybe get lucky like Dallas did this year and ATL did the year before) and put ourselves in position to contend during Tatum's age 29-34 seasons.

The core for our next title run in a few yrs could be Tatum/Brown/White..Pritchard can start too. Kornet can be the backup C. Which gives us the next 2-3 yrs to find a new starting C and another bench piece or 2 (backup C again is Kornet and Scheierman can be backup wing)..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I am sorry but Morant for Cam Johnson centered trade is just crazy. Memphis fans still worship Ja here and he is still the most popular professional athlete Memphis has ever had. Zero reason for us to sell this low on Ja, it would have to be a much better offer for us to consider moving off him, if no offer is made we just move forward with him. If we really wanted Cam Johnson then we can simply trade for him already and keep Ja. But Cam Johnson is actually a bad fit for us anyways, not fluid enough to guard SF full time and a weak rebounder at PF so he doesn't work when we play JJJ at center.

He doesn't get a lot of playing time because Indiana has a ton of quality guards but good things always seem to happen when Ben Sheppard is in the game. If there's an opportunity to buy low on him this summer, Boston should be all over that.
