Tor/Cha
Jose/Evans for Damp/Najera
Gives Cha a PG and an expiring Evans
Gives Tor a true centre (I would not waive Damp - keep him to see how he plays with Bargs) and an expiring. Najera is filler and helps Cha save 2 million.

If Rudy is going to Boston, is there some way we could get involved and grab a guy like Avery Bradley?
to TOR: Bradley
to BOS: Rudy
to POR: 2011 Miami 1st + (one of Alabi/Dorsey/Andersen)
For Portland, this return would be similar to the type of return they would get from Orlando for Rudy (a project big+future 1st, which is probably better than them taking on yet another guard). We get another young asset in Avery, who we seemed to have some interest in going into the draft, who can be a solid defender for us and also has some significant upside as a scorer--especially if we're looking to play uptempo. Avery may or may not be a starting calibre for us, but at the very least he would be a solid backup guard to come off the bench and put the defensive pressure on opposing PGs.

i like this, but i think portland was high on bradley so if the trade involved boston portland would probably want bradley for themselves.

Yeah, it really only works if Portland would prefer getting a cheap big man+pick back instead of Bradley. Although if that's the case, that means they wouldn't keep Patty Mills (since they're already at 15 players on their roster now), so I would try to get him for the minimum. I think he's got a lot of upside, and he would excel in an uptempo offense. He just needs some minutes, and we can spare those minutes since we're in a rebuilding year (especially if it's going to take Jose some time before he's ready to play).

Re: Toronto Raptors 2010 Official Trade Ideas Thread
In honor of Ujiri becoming the GM of the Nuggets, I feel the Raps should help him out in getting the best yield for Carmelo and JR Smith as possible but at the same time, get a serviceable big and another expiring contract.
This trade will take place in a month's time because Barbosa still can't be traded...
NY to Toronto
Turiaf and Azubuike
Toronto to NY
Barbosa
NY to Denver
Galinari, Chandler, Curry, Barbosa
Denver to NY
Anthony and JR Smith
Why? Toronto gets a guy that who can play C or, at least, be a serviceable undersized C platoon with Amir Johnson, and Azuibuke, who's expiring but can play. Also, takes away the need to play Barbosa, freeing up more time for DeRozan. It cuts Toronto's financial hit more, adding another expiring contract.
For Denver, they get a very good haul for Anthony and gets rid of the headache that is JR Smith. Galinari's a future star. Chandler and Barbosa strengthens their bench big time and Curry can play in spurts, if they want, or just be waived.
NY gets their star to go with Anthony but they inherit a headache for a price.

Re: 2010 Toronto Raptors Trade Ideas Thread
This trade would help Orlando catch-up to Miami
Improve Toronto and give Denver a younger PG and some luxury tax relief.
This trade can be done 2 different ways really on what Denver wants?
Trade 1
Toronto gets Gortat
gives Alabi & TPE
Denver gets Nelson
gives Billups
Orlando gets Alabi & Billups
gives Nelson & Gortat
Trade 2
Tornoto gets Gortat & Nelson
gives Alabi & Jack
Denver gets Jack
gives Billups
Orlando gets Alabi & Billups
gives Nelson & Gortat
Orlando gets Billups that can make up the difference between Miami and Orlando to contend in the East. They get a filler in Alabi for some minutes as back-up C.
Denver gets adequate PGs back in Nelson they save 12.8 in luxury tax and with Jack 16.6 in luxury tax.
Toronto gets a defensive C...............who's value is still tp be determined from a Top 10 to 20 plus
Toronto might need to take on Nelson salary as well.Laowai

I do not see Orlando giving up Gortat and having no back-up C (Alabi and Orton are not ready for NBA minutes). If Howard fouls out in the ECF, you can't have those two filling in.
Possibly Nene coming instead of Billups (if Denver is trying to shed salary)...but I think Orlando is happy with Gortat and his contract is not too bad (at least for Orlando where they are waaay over the cap).

You would have to drug or kill Atlanta's GM to get this done.

I think he can be acquired for part of the TPE or possibly Joey Dorsey (Memphis Tigers connection).

That would be great but why would Memphis trade him?
He is a on a cheap contract this year with a qualifying offer next year.
But, Yes, I would give up Alabi for him right now.
*Edit: I suppose if they wanted to save some money this year it makes sense (or for Joey Dorsey as was mentioned as he could be waived).

Well there aren't many minutes at the 5 with Gasol and Thabeet. So if they can save money, I think they will do it.

Yep...unless they want him to ride the pine this year in case Gasol bolts. But I definitely think it is worth pursuing as he seems to have potential and can rebound. I would really like to see Bargs beside a true centre.
