he will score, efficiently too not jacking shots like todays young guards, 18-22 in his prime easily and mayb top off at 25...but his overall game like passing, rebounds, and making others around him better wont be at elite level i think...it will still make him a star, prob on that second tier of guards...but who knows the kids 21 with presumably great work ethic and focus

Damn he's been legit lately, I never thought he'd be a 25-30pt threat every night this quick. Now averaging 20.6ppg in January and 25.1ppg in his last 6. All losses mind you, but hey, we suck. I hope his defense and 3pt shot makes a leap next year

DeRozan is a gym rat. His idol in bball is kobe and he does have the athletic skills to keep improving. That tells me a lot.

Let's see how fast he develops his middle range game. If he can score today with players knowing he'll drive 90% of the time then he'll score almost at will if/once he develops his mid/long range game.

He'll be a dominant scorer once he extends his range a few feet back beyond the arc and learns how to use ball screens effectively. He'll never be much of a playmaker, which is fine given he's eventually paired up with a dynamic young distributor at PG or SF, but the defense and rebounding need to see big improvements. He should be flying all over the court making hustle plays given his size and good athleticism at the 2.

I agree, from the start I think we all had an awesome feeling about Derozan's body language and clear work ethic - from a purely mental and team relations perspective he reminded me of Kevin Durant and Derrick Rose. These are the players you want to draft.

Pointless to put up a thread about the Raptors on the general board, as most americans don't know **** about our team nor watch our team.

Why should non-Raptors fans watch the Raptors? You posted that as if it's a bad thing. I don't expect anybody who isn't a Cavs fan to watch the Cavs and you shouldn't expect non-Raptors fans to watch the Raptors.

I'm a Raptors fan and I can barely tolerate watching them.

I hear you. Watching the Cavs is a labor of love this year. It's not fun. It's the first time in years that I am actually looking forward to the season ending as opposed to dreading it.

But Maggette is and has always been a black hole. The slasher comparison is a good one though.

I pretty much picture him as an unselfish Corey Maggette. Passing is mos def not his forte at this point but I don't think it is because he is selfishly looking for his stats.

I like that he is a gym rat and is still quite young so I am happy with his game at this point and hopeful he will improve and possibly reach allstar level if not superstar level. I kind of doubt the superstar part but think the allstar level is mos def reachable.

He is going to be a great scorer. His defense, rebounding, they have a lot of untapped potential for sure. He's scoring 20 points a game with a raw offensive game his ball handling looks very shaky yet he is pouring in the points his size, athleticism are pointing towards excellent defensive ablity in his prime and rebounding. He's a 6'7 shooting guard face it he's going to have a good time rebounding against skinnier guards.

If he can develop a post game, a good three point, above average three point shot, and put on some more mass I could see him being a star player in this league. If he got decent at what I listed above or even average at all those thing with about 10-15 pounds of more muscle he could be scoring upwards of 25 points a game.

The only things I can see working against him are his length, his wing span is amazingly small. And his lack of quickness or speed in general. He's built like a little power forward, he lacks a lot of speed yet his leaping ability is great. I think that can be fixed with extra muscle he will have to be like a more Ron Artest like defensive player who bodies up his opponents. DeRozan has a lot of potential and I think it isn't visible as of now to see what he could become. He has a lot of defensive potential even though he may be below average now. I see a lot of all-star appearances in his career.

Chris Bosh became the 'star' in Toronto by default after the Vince trade. He also had those dumb YouTube videos.

He was essentially whoring himself out on the net for all-star votes.

He is amazing in 2K11, even though he is only rated 65 he's got sick handles and can break down most people off the dribble, and then once you get close enough to go for a dunk/layup he will finish or draw a foul almost every single time.

He and Bayless are crazy in 2k11.

2k11 handling sucks because the best move on the perimeter (finishing you gotta go with the hopstep) is the crossover and as long as youre like a 50 at ballhandling you're good to go.
