How did PJ do after he learnt under one of the greatest coaches of all time in SA? I'd say about the same as he did for us back in the 20th century.

What a BS reason to LOVE the idea of Shaw coaching the W's. If you can't do better than that, then you don't really have a good reason.

Yikes! OK here's a case for B-Shaw: smart, cerebral guy, was a point guard AKA coach on the court - should be a good X and O guy. Has been part of winning traditions, including the Celtics and Lakers. Has also played in Europe and learned from the European, team-oriented style. Has overcome hardship, showing character. Apprenticed as the lead assistant to a very good head coach. Got the vote of approval from Kobe and other LA players. He's local and that's always a good story. He knows the triangle offense and that might be a good approach here if Curry is a tweener. Has been known to give spine-tingling motivational speeches. Is in demand around the League so presumably there is a consensus that he would be a good coach, and getting him would be somewhat of a coup.

Personally, I would have LOVED to see B-Shaw here last summer instead of Keith Smart, but I think it's time now to get someone with more experience. And I also wonder if Shaw is more of a quiet guy than the old-school ball-buster I think this squad needs right now.

Sign me up for Jerry Sloan.

We may have been too quick to fire Keith Smart. I gather he has a bigger impact than Phil Jackson from that table.

Lacob said he wanted to find his own guy to rise up and Brian Shaw, although on the radar of teams, hasn't done anything yet and therefore can be THAT guy Lacob "finds". Hey if the interviews go well and they believe in Shaw's approach to the game and has a nice gameplan for our players then go for it.

This is one of the biggest decisions that Lacob will make in his early ownership...he won't mess it up guys. More thought is given to the next coach of the Warriors than anything else.

Was just listening to Steinmetz on Damon Bruce, he thinks Shaw is our guy cuz someone in the Lakers front office no likey Shaw.

I'd be fine with Shaw as long as we don't run the triangle. Our team is built horribly for that sh*t. Mike Brown is good with me too since I know he'll at least preach defense.

In other words, if its narrowed down to those two I'm pretty happy. Smallball go bye bye :cheer:

Why do you think the Warriors roster is horribly built for the triangle offense? We have some good passers, and some would argue, no true point guard?

yea i dont understand...this team can run the triangle as is right now.

frankly having legit offensive system is something ive been waiting for for years. and will lead to easier opportunities to score in the half court so we arent running and chucking up shots all the damn time, thus giving our one good player more energy to play defense...errr focus on defense more often...since we all know he CAN do it if he is told too and applies himself...he has the tools.

I don't know that Shaw is going to want to run the triangle anyway, and he's played PG in more traditional offenses.

I think the Warriors ought to go in a different direction this summer, but if Brian Shaw is the guy I'll stand behind him 100%.

And why the heck is Lacob interviewing Chuck Person? Would he come as Shaw's assistant?

I could see how Kevin Love would be a great player for the triangle in Minnesota... those other guys are a bunch of knuckleheads though.

David Lee could do this.
