dam davis does look like a longer odom out there, but i wouldn't be surprised if his peak is a taller version of pippen...he will go 1 and 2 with drummond, classic oden vs durant debate will go down throughout draft

i would have to take davis right now without question so far watching them both. drummond is just not assertive at all. he has everything but he looks confused out there. his hands are always down he stands in one spot and when he comes up to set a pick he just stands there instead of going to the hoop. calhoun needs to find some way to light a fire up his butt. there is no debate though right now that davis is goes ahead of drummond in my mind unless drummond starts to really play ball.

Yeah this guy is the real deal. Blake Griffin vs Anthony Davis will be the new Kevin Garnett vs Tim Duncan.

I think it's more like Shawn Kemp vs. KG... giving Blake credit for EITHER KG's or Duncan's defense is just wrong. Davis may not have the offensive game KG did coming in, but he's far more likely to develop that than Blake is developing Duncan/KG defense with those short arms.

I'm definitely curious to see how he does in the NBA. He's got tons of skill, what appears to be a really nice basketball IQ and tons of length.
The one question mark is his weight. That and his unibrow, the fug is up with that ish?

I know it's not a new comparison, but Davis looks a lot like a young KG to me. Hopefully, minus the dbag attitude.

I think what people are missing here is that - aside from KG being a jerk, he's insanely competitve. That's a very rare quality and sets him apart from other players with great ability. It's not at all a knock on Davis to say that he's most likely not going to measure up to KG.

I mean it more from a size/skill comparison. Whether he is willing to pay the price to be great is yet to be seen. That said, Davis to me is the closest thing to KG since KG.

He could either be Bosh or KG.

That - I can definitely agree with. It's an important clarification.

Davis certainly has the bigger wingspan, regardless of who is taller. Anthony looks like he may lead the NCAA in blocks this year.

In two games this year here are Davis' stats:

56 minutes
37 Pts
16-21 FGA
5-9 FTA
3 AST
16 reb
12 blk
2 stl
5 TO

That is just insane efficiency. I don't think Davis is going to play against a lot of front courts as talented as that of Kansas. Against Davis and Terrence Jones, Thomas Robinson went 5-12 for 11 points, 12 rebounds, 1 block and 5 PF's in 28 minutes.

I can't wait for kentucky v North Carolina on 12/3!

both player's wingspan is 7'4

I just realized that he is going to turn 21 years old before the season is over with. That's a full 2 years older than most freshman. Why is he that old, and does it diminish what he has done so far?

think about his growth spurt. if he was born in '91, that means he wouldve had his growth spurt at the age of 19.
not likely.

weird that ESPN would have that wrong, but you are right it does make sense he is 18 given his huge growth spurt.

Wow if he is going to grow two years that fast he is a terrible prospect. By the second year in the league he will be in his 30s.

Exactly...I'm actually confused as to why I don't hear this more often. I think he is like a Tayshaun Prince/Ak47 rather than KG. The guy was a pg before the growth spurt...he himself has said he thinks of himself as a point forward. His jumper is good even though he doesn't use it much..the way they are using him in Kentucky as a center, his offensive game is mainly based on alley oops and open shots/putbacks in the paint. We haven't seen his full potential on that end of the floor...if this kid is permitted to shoot like a sg at times like he did in highschool, with his nice form he could look like a KD/AK type.
