to be fair, the rumor has finally been cleared up by bernie last week. we had a deal on the table for the portland pick #3, for our picks #5 and #12. five minutes before the blazers picked they called and let the cats know they had accepted the offer from the jazz. we arent the ones who pulled the plug on the deal.

Also people would not complain as much if we had used the picks we had better. Felton and Granger could have been huge for us.

I would be surprised if we drafted Zeller. It is just too out there. We had him in for one of our few workouts we had. Rumors abound Cho loves him. Doesn't sound right. Last year there were no indications that MKG was the pick. This seems to be smoke to me. Or this is my wishful dilution. Not sure.

Also McLemore scares me. Loads of talent, but doesn't seem to have the confidence needed to take over in games. The NBA is full of talented players that are just lacking the confidence to be very good players. I don't know. He could mature into that role. Just kind of iffy to me.

Eh Granger would have been a huge upgrade, but I can understand them not taking Granger with Wallace coming into his prime.

1) Agree Zeller is a smokescreen and it seems odd that last year MKG was top secret yet Zeller is plastered on their foreheads. They like him, but they probably want to alert teams 9-12 looking to trade out of the draft.

2)Some players mature in a way where their physical gifts advance far ahead of their emotional maturity. McLemore fits this profile. But since he is not volatile like Cousins, there's a good chance that his emotional maturity will catch up as his physical gifts bring repeated success over time and his confidence rises.

Zeller makes sense, he is super athletic and has the potential to fill out his frame and get better... He is as sure a thing as anyone.

If the Magic pass on Oladipo I believe there is a very strong chance that we grab him.

On draft day there are lots of games being played...most of it is intentional misinformation. But, some bits of truth do occasionally get out in the open. None of this becomes evident until after it's over and you reconstruct what was said versus what happened.

The Zeller thing could be either/or. I am sure we like him, but I doubt we like him so much that we've decided to take him at 4. No need to talk about that. Therefore, I think there are other teams that like him, picking just behind us, and we're seeing if they want him bad enough to deal picks. I think our true target is either Len or McLemore. Note the Cats "chatter" is about Olidipo or Zeller. That means they are ideally plan B options.

Also, I am not enamored with aquiring Williams in a deal. i just think that guy is a bust. I am tire of undersized and underperforming bigs. We need a guy who will get us results. I like Zeller long term, as I feel he has more upside potential as an overall threat at the 4. Still, he likely is not an all-star talent, but then nobody in this draft is a sure thing.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Sheridan reporting that barring a trade Cavs will take Len first overall. He also expects Magic to draft Noel on behalf of another team and trade the pick. But then again he has us taking Porter in his mock draft so hes probably full of it

I just watched the G-Town vs UConn 2 OT game on espn classic and Porter looked really good. I would still take Bennett, but would prefer Porter over Zeller.

As long as we land one of Noel/McLemore/Oladipo/Len/Porter I will be happy. I will even settle for Zeller.

Anyone but Oladipo. dude brings nothing to the the able we don't already have. Hes basically a under developed Gerald Henderson.. with his ceiling being Henderson with a better motor..

IDK. I think that Oladipo is going to have a better 10 year run than Henderson.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Any predicitions on best and worst suit?

I have a feeling Oladipo is going to look sharp, McLemore will either be really good or really bad, and Len will look goofy

So much talk about Zeller makes me calm, that means we won't touch him.

fatlever wrote:my best guess at the top 10 picks tonight

1. cavs: noel
2. magic: oladipo
3. wiz: bennett
4. cats: len
5. suns: mclemore
6. pelicans: porter
7. kings: zeller
8. pistons: burke
9. wolves: mccollum
10. blazers: adams

That would be perfect. Getting the right player, could laugh at Cavs getting it wrong again and Detroit board would have to deal with a kid who is closest to Kemba in this draft.
