It's just Portland messing with the Thunder. Don't mess w/ Presti.

Dion will rise.
hahahaha. You the only one on Dion island! Watch he turn into 6th man extraordinaire this upcoming season and OKC gonna have decide whether to pay him max money or let him walk. That would be ironic. Losing 2 RFA to offer sheets.

Though I'd venture to guess, most OKC fans on here would welcome it seeing as I'm sure Dion is in for another 37-39% FG shooting year. Sorry to OKC from CLE fandom for hoodwinking you with that false promise.

17.5 million for Kanter? Man I guess I'll ad him to my amnesty clause candidate list. I hope nothing happens to the NBA's revenue and the cap rises to 100 million + in the next 3 years because some of these deals are so stupid.

pretty amazing how we were able to turn him into half of Mozgov, Shump, and JR after all... feels like we robbed OKC & Knicks at same time, Knicks might not be such a big accomplishment to rob but OKC sure is.

No denying Enes deal could appear as an overpay for what we all know of his game that plays on-court but when it comes to big guys in the NBA, at least offensive ones, they always come at a price.
A year or 2 years from now, that 17.5mil for a 25 year old center will be the equivalent of 8-10mil today or last year. And I'm sure that's what most teams are trying to convince themselves of with some of the deals that have been handed out to lowered tiered players so far in free agency.

It sounds like a power move from Portland.

Lol. Why do teams want this to happen is more interesting then OKC not wanting to pay the tax. Losing Augustin will hurt but losing Novak and PJ really won't . They should try to trade Waiters with them and 3 2nds to Philly for a 2nd. That's 10.9 million going out and Kanter likely makes 15.5 his first year so 4.6 million + repeater tax is a 4th of what they would pay in taxes.

No doubt. Mozzy, if anything, was the most important. Though I'd really be interested to know what kind of offers Griff was proposing/and or being offered for Dion from 2014 NBA Draft night up until Opening night based on that "potential" from him ballin out the previous season before he had time to almost ruin all that promise as his play sucked more and more with each passing game as the season wore on.

Well the contract has a trade kicker in it. So that puts OKC in a bind. Durant, Westbrook, Ibaka and Adams all need new contracts over the next two years. Gonna be interesting to see how they deal because the first three are definitely going to command max contracts.

Let's just take the time to point out that Kanter will be making more than Harden will be if they match.

Under completely different cap circumstances. 17.5 million a year now is like 9 or 10 million back then.

If it goes through this will definitely drop OKC a few pegs in the top tiers.

Not this year.
Have you missed this free agency period? Its a new era in player salary. I mean Demare Carrol will make as much as James Harden did this year.

3 days to match.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Honest question but why is OKC so cheap? Is it because the owner can't afford a big tax bill?

Right, but the cap is 70 million this year, whether it's a new era or not, it's remarkable Enes Kanter will be making more than Harden.
