That's the jumpshot that made Jakob Poetl a household name

My impression of Poeltl has not been of a jumpshooter. That hasn't been what he's done at Utah.

I'm simply pointing out an instance of the same issue that's hampered JV so far defensively in the NBA. Unable to be near his man when he's spotting up for a jumper.

Poeltl with a 3?

Guess a 44% FT shooter can still make wide open 3's.

there was a moment when JV defended the pick n roll exactly how we want him to do though

DMo shot 37% from three last season and he's a 60% FT shooter :)

Agreed. Seems that awareness to take baseline still isn't there (consistently). Which is odd, given he's done something very similar before, but from a standstill. Needs to feel before the catch and go immediately.

Yeah I saw that as well. Some encouraging signs, but overall still much of the same.

Watching Javtokas compared to Jonas though - Javtokas is constantly within an arm's reach of his man, even up to the FT line. Jonas needs to emulate that. No more staying within a foot of the restricted area at all times.

That girl swimmer... I didn't know she became good looking. I clicked away from the game for her interview.

well a commentator (who's with the national team all the time) said in training he looks far better than compared to last years play. I think he'll play better, but he needs to get used to the real games again.

Watching both Javtokas and Poeltl, Jonas still isn't quite there yet mobility-wise. Starting to doubt he'll get it back.

There's that spot-up defense again. His man gets a WIDE OPEN jumper. Lucky he can't shoot.

Yeah, I think he should definitely be closer by at least one foot, unless he's afraid he won't be able to protect the rim on time when needed.

Jonas got benched for giving up another jumper.
