I don't think he is a good GM by the way, but why would he ask guys to come play here if he plans on leaving ??!! ESPN and fans just want to have a wet dream that he will be on the Lakers next year...odds are very strong it won't happen. Maybe when he is 35-36 and doesn't care if he wins anymore.

I'm not saying Lebron is leaving but this wouldn't really be an indicator one way or another since Lebron would obviously want Cleveland to improve for next year regardless since he will be on the team next year

Because going to 4 straight NBA Finals is awesome. Having the best or 2nd best player in the history of the NBA, in his prime, is awesome. Cleveland also has a legitimate 25 year old superstar and a 28 year all All-Star to play with him. Cleveland is a really good team and they have a very real chance of keeping LeBron beyond 2018.

Reaching the NBA Finals isn't nothing. It is very rare. Boston is a great franchise but they have been to 2 NBA Finals in the last 30 years. It is hard to get there. This is Cleveland's time and you don't just give that up.

Harsh much? and calling LeBron selfish doesn't make sense.

To be honest, LeBron would fit very well with this Celtics team. Though he wouldn't ever join the Celtics...

With all due respect, you cannot say things LBJ has done (such as the 30 min Decision ESPN special) can be construed as anything other than selfish.

Plus you read into rumours that Lebron will leave Cleveland again if the Cavs/Gilbert won't give him a Dubs beating/challenging supporting cast, and it's hard to say that Lebron is anything else but an egomaniac. I really hope he stays at Cleveland post 2018, or i think it would irrevocably destroy his legacy tbh

Someone remind me how much money the Decison raised for charity? And lebron didn't take a cent. If he signed 1 and 1 deals for the rest of his career and did a decison every offseason humanity would be better off. Some things are bigger than sports open your eyes.

Why would Boston blow the next 10 years for MAYBE a year of LeBron?

It'd be smart for the long term plan, but the Cavs may never again reach the finals. Take advantage while u can.

because a trip to the finals >>>> rebuild package.

you only get so many chances to make the finals and win a title. you dont throw that away. cleveland had 3 number 1 picks and a couple top 5 picks after lebron left last time and they were trash until he came back

If I was Dan I'd call him in and ask his intentions. If he didn't assure me he was coming back I'd trade Love and possibly Kyrie for a rebuilding package. The second that happened LeBron would ok a trade to another team. Trading all 3 would bring back a ton of assets.

Before KD went to GSW, I thought it was unimaginable that Lebron could/would leave again. Now though, I think it's very much closer to 50-50

Unless you are Lebron James himself thats an absurd thing to say. No its the definition of an opinion.

Celtics with LeBron this year could beat the Warriors in the Finals - it'd at least go 7. Why wouldn't LeBron re-up with Boston?

Philly could also be an interesting option.

The whole premise is that LeBron is willing to leave a legitimate title contender and a guaranteed spot in the Finals.
If that where the conversation is starting, why wouldn't you think he'd leave Boston?

Please dude. If Danny Ainge could get Lebron James for a song and a dance he would drive to Cleveland and pick him up himself. Lebron is one of the most unselfish players on the court and would fit perfect into whatever Brad wants to run.

It doesn't matter either way since it will never happen but Danny wants to win and that's all he cares about.

Dude Lebron may be unselfish but he has the ball in his hands 80 percent of the time. He would completely ruin Stevens's offense.

You prefer the Steven's offense to the Lebron offense? The same offense that's been in the finals for pretty much the entire last decade? I thought the Boston "creed" take was bad but man...

Cleveland will be bad after Lebron leaves just like they were before he got there and just like they were inbetween his two stints there. Lebron has gone to the Finals so many times that people are numb to what an accomplishment it is for many franchises. The Utah Jazz had 2 legendary players that have statues outside their arena yet have only been to the finals twice in their history. Other franchises have either not made the finals or only made it a couple times in their entire history. The Phoenix Suns have had some great teams, but only 2 finals trips, same with Orlando. Toronto and Atlanta have never made the finals. If you are the Cavs you get excited for one more season of exciting basketball where you will be in the finals and have a shot at the chip. Once Lebron leaves the finals and sold out basketball every night all goes away.

Boston & maybe Philly appear to be locked and loaded with talent and youth for a long run. And they're in the East.

Because Ainge believes his assets are worth more than anyone else so you would never get good value on the deal.

If you're sure he's gone then trade him, but to someone who will give you actual value in return.
