Turgeon, is like my main man, Eddie Jordan. Stuck in one system...

I'm probably a lot like that as much as I hate to admit

I don't think a lot of his chances of succeeding in the NBA - though no doubt he is intriguing with his wide variety of skills. He's actually not a terrible defender because he's got quick hands.

I've seen Happ listed anywhere from 6-10, 240 to 6-8. If he's legit 6-10, which I doubt, I think he has a shot. At 6-8, 240, to me, he's Luke Maye without the jumper. He's a tremendous college basketball player, really smart, passes well out of double teams. Can't shoot free throws, around 47%. That's horrific. Old school power forwards without a consistent jump shot. Not liking his chances.

To me, there was one really bad call on Fernando. The others were understandable. He just ran over a guy on the third. Happ draws fouls well. He posts up right underneath the basket practically and their guards feed him well (unlike Md's guards).

What I don't understand is why Sticks Smith continues to post up against guys Happ's size when he's so weak. He's a face-up four right now.

I don't think Turgeon gets that basketball has evolved since the 1970's. He wants to go with 2 bigs clogging the middle and doesn't seem to understand the value of spacing and recruiting great shooters - instead he recruits guys like Morsell. I hope that changes with the Mitchell brothers, but look at their other recruit for 2019 - Donta Scott - known as a defensive specialist. I am not optimistic about the future.

<joke to follow> Ruzious, did you say the Mitchell brothers. :o

I just hope they don't kill one another.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitchell_brothers

Brothers James Lloyd "Jim" Mitchell (November 30, 1943, in Stockton, California – July 12, 2007, in Petaluma, California) and Artie Jay Mitchell (December 17, 1945, in Lodi, California – February 27, 1991, in Marin County, California) were pioneers in the pornography and striptease club business in San Francisco and other parts of California from 1969 until 1991, when Jim was convicted of killing Artie.

They opened the O'Farrell Theatre in 1969 as an adult cinema and at one time operated 11 such businesses. They produced and directed many adult films, including Behind the Green Door in 1972. They were also successful as defendants in many obscenity cases. Their notoriety significantly increased with Jim's fratricide and they became the subject of three books, X-Rated, Bottom Feeders, and 9½ Years Behind the Mitchell Brothers' Green Door and one movie, Rated X.

Glad to get any player named Tank Booker - His name alone would inditimidate me. Marcus Finger... eh, but from all accounts, he's a fine player.

Terps vs my Daughter's alma mater, the Corn Huskers.
Copeland's injury should make then worse but I expect Turgeon will coach down to the opponent .
I expect a big loss.
Hopefully, Ayala can help with ball handling and Cowen's shot drops.
Sticks needs a breakout game.
Bruno is a virtual double double lock.
Still, I think the Turtles are going to be stewed today.

This was a decent class considering Locksley just completed his staff and has had about three weeks to focus on recruiting after losing the title game with Alabama. But this pretty much made their day.

Looks like Smith did have a huge breakout game. Bruno got 19 rebounds James Palmer was held to 2-13FGs.

Good road win by the Terps last night at Nebraska. Any road win is a good win in the Big 10, even if Nebraska is short-handed. The offense though is starting to worry me. Good thing that they are off until Purdue on Tuesday. Very tough stretch coming up.

Locks is not done with the 2019 class. He might get 1 or 2 more guys, who haven't signed an LOI yet to change their minds. Also looking at a possible QB transfer. Josh Jackson from Va. Tech is an option and Florida State is once again in on him.

Great day for the Terps! Big win over Purdue at home. Unreal defense and big games by Ayala and Wiggins. Future is bright if Sticks Smith stays and adds about 15 pounds.

Unreal defense, indeed!

Outside of Duke who has a better group of freshmen? Ayala, Wiggins, Lindo, both Smiths are each regular contributors for a top-25 Big Ten team.

Ayala's really surprised me. I thought it was telling about how much Turgeon trusts him that they ran plays for him coming out of timeouts a couple of times that I noticed - and they worked both times. I actually thought Wiggins would be ahead of where he is, but he had a very nice game, and I'm expecting he will be the Terps top scorer next season. Sticks coming back would make all the difference for next season's team. Kncoche had some good observations about him and his slow starts and strong 2nd halfs - he seems to get too uptight before games and needs time to get into the flow of games. Turgeon needs to find a way to ease him into the flow at the start of games.

Interesting that MD got killed on the boards - gave up far more offensive boards that they got (and MD's a good rebounding team) - and missed a lot of open shots in the first half - but still won going away.

Agree that they probably have the second-best group of freshmen in the nation. Seems like Ayala is beginning to surpass Cowan as the point guard, even though he's not as explosive. Cowan makes some shaky decisions for a guy who is a junior, while Ayala (who I think is 20) seems wise beyond his years.
