One thing I'll say is if you ignore the three point shooting tray young's inside scoring is pretty impressive. He takes a lot of shots, he makes 45% of them, and gets to the line a fair bit and makes those as well. There are many young guards in the nba who can't get it done inside like that. Anyways an interesting player, I was a fan in college, hopefully for you guys the trade doesn't turn out to seem like a disaster. Anyways if he can hit even 33.3 or 35% and that opens him up inside that helps.

KIdd is an obvious guy for someone who started off shooting poorly and then ended up being a good shooter.

He is an extremely interesting case study for me. The obvious comparison is Nash but Nash was way more polished even if he wasn't anywhere near as talented out of college. Trae is just learning what is and isn't a good shot. Trae is also learning to play within the system but it's gonna be a WIP.

He really is a lot like Isiah Thomas. Great at finishing in the paint, crafty, quick as ish but not too fast. Skilled as hell. Can pass at a high level. good lateral quickness. I just think Zeke was just a much more advanced PG in terms of defense. Trae seems like this is his first year really playing D but he has the tools in terms of lateral ability and he understands concepts and what the other wants to do. He just gets lost in screens and while he has improved, he takes possessions less serious. He clearly needs to improve his stamina and and focus this off-season as well as his shooting form, get rid of the from the hip shot. Communication is another area Trae struggles at a lot defensively.

Now, he is like Nash in terms of his court vision and he can make every type of pass but his passing isn't that great right now. It's good at times but at others, it can be :banghead:

He is just raw. Still learning how to play the professional game. Like most rookies tend to look like.

His prototype to me is Zeke and Steve Nash. But he has along way to go. I don't see Kidd. Kidd moreso in Ball but Kidd was more advanced out of Cal but Ball might be a better defender at the same stage. Then again, the league has changed since 94.

Banter is a fun part of sports. We have some visitors bringing different perspective. Some seem very sensitive.

Luka is looking kind of great. Good for him, DAL and the whole civilized world

Trae is looking kind of great too. Good for him, ATL and the whole civilized world

I remember you saying that. That was your big thing. I didn't see it because, well, Trae played no D at OU. Zeke was a productive defender at IU his sophomore year but now that he's playing defense and doing much better of late. I can see it now and offense is where you see a lot of similarities.

 Racist? How? I love everybody. Do you even understand the term racist or are you just playing victim for the Boston troll?

I am more offended you called me a bigot mouth. That sounds like you got other issues going on. Are you sure I am the racist or are you projecting?

Nothing racist about anything I've said. I am just blunt. But can you explain what "his bigot mouth" means? That sounds like something else my friend

You’ve been warned for unnecessary and inappropriate race comments several times before. You can go after the message with bringing that crap into it. It ruins any good points you may have made.

Defending Black people in a space where people tend to have an unknowingly unpleasant view in terms of labor is not inappropriate by any stretch. I take offense to that. In fact, I talk to the mods and explained it to them quite clearly. They just feel that I change the direction the thread. I say this, when you are always in a room of people like you who think and see the world like you and the voice like me is not there, then when my voice is there, you see it as wrong and not as another perspective because it's not adjacent to you and those like you. That's implicit bias. That's what I deal with here at times.

I take pride that I defended the NBAPA and Michelle Roberts and will do it again damnit! I'll keep that same energy.

Honestly, I been on Baseball and Hockey forums and the amount of support the players got from the fanbases always took me when I would go to RealGM, Reddit, and PFT, I would see the opposite for the players in terms of support. It became clear all labor isn't the labor "we" support.

Let's keep it real here.

Nothing I said was offensive to me.

I didn't call him out for being anything but a troll with this attitude that Doncic fans, in specific a certain hue carries. Look, I am wrong, I will say I am wrong but I said nothing wrong and I am not backing down on the statement.

JL can give the warning now because I stand by what I said. But was I wrong, no.

High5, go to General Board right now. Luka is getting compared to LeBron and it is seen as RACIST to say he's not the next LeBron. In fact, the Boston troll came here and said that we should NEVER compare him to Trae again. That's it's foolish and our GM is foolish. I completely resent that comment and the fact that he would come to our home. Our sub-forum and say that BS. Man, he feeling himself and don't give a f**k either. I had enough of it. I am already up here with them with little cheap shots. I defended my team, my organization, my franchise player. Kill me with that noise man.

JL, come here and give me a warning. Keep these boys happy. I defend my damn team.

High5, check your PM. I want to take this discussion private.

My bad fellas for going off topic the last couple posts. Got carried away when called racist by a poster.

I am very sensitive to this issue. I know I am. Just too many people saying false stuff. The eyes don't lie. They are attacking Trae because they like Luka. It makes no sense. I mean, we are happy with Trae. Luka is fantastic and everyone here knows, after Bags and Ayton, I wanted Luka. But he's in a better place for him now. Dallas is trying to win games. We wanted to build a championship contender. We had a different approach and scope. Why come to our thread and troll us and demand from us when you aren't a Hawk fan. Ugh!

I don't understand why you guys are punishing yourself with these threads? Why not just talking about Trae, instead of Trae & Luka? You've lost the trade, made a blunder - so what. Name one team that has never made a draft blunder. They all have, including the championship winning teams. Whether you lost the trade or not won't be locking you out of contention in the future.

My only question is, are the same posters who keep showing up here to post about Luka also going to the Suns and Kings boards? I think we all know the answer to that. :-?
