I wasn't the biggest fan leading up to the draft, but I have to agree he looks good. Looks like the Kings finally have some pieces you can build a franchise around.

Luka is a franchise player right now, you can build a playoff team around him right now. He's the best rookie since LeBron.
Agreed. Luka looks like a franchise level player. You dont break those kind of talents down. Plus the Mavs pick this season is going to be late lotto with how theyre playing.

I'm a little curious how come Bagley keeps being talked about as some disappointment. the one issue he'll never be able to escape is the Luka factor, but statistically at least he's been very impressive in shorter minutes and you'd think the potential is there for something more/bigger in the future. That's not always true of rooks who top out early.

Huerter and Kurucs are very underrated.

"they need to build this team from the ground up"....Well they are trending towards that. DAJ, Wes even Barnes are slowly coming off the books. And they'll have Brunson as Barea replacement. Also DSJ is still there, so it's not like they are completely without options.
And regarding Luka, LAC were triple teaming him at one point in the clutch, Doc admitted that he is one of his favorite NBA players already and they were covering him harder than most teams cover Harden. He has proven that he can literally carry a team to a win at 19yo without any NBA conditioning training. I think Mavs got exactly what they wanted and needed.
