She's very knowledgeable. I love that she instantly picks up little intricacies that I night have missed had she not mentioned it. Did she ever coach after?

And I like Doris Burke. Her voice can be monotone at times (whoever compared her to Brent Barry was spot on), but at least she adds to the broadcast, and talks about what's happening on the floor.

I only heard her for the first time recently, but I found her to be a bit too dry for my tastes.

When I watch sports, I like commentary that is analytical. I like it when someone discusses strategy. Doris brings too much of an emotional perspective to the game. I really don't care how Maurice Harkless is feeling, being in his first WC Finals. If wanted that, I would watch "The Young and Restless."

Surprised? This is a site with a primarily male user base that are thirsty.

There are plenty of women that are thirsty as well. Have you guys ever been on Twitter? Instagram? YouTube? There are a lot of women that drool over male celebrities. Just watch any YouTube video that features a male actor/singer/athlete and look at the comment section. Plenty of women commenting on there are only focused on the man's physical attributes, instead of the man's talent/intelligence/personality.

It's like you guys live on RealGM and only see the negative attributes of men, instead of realizing that a lot of women act the same way too.

I've never said this before...

Every person on TV and the interwebz raves about her and says she's the best analyst and she should do all the games...to the point where it feels like a bit?

I like her, she's fine, but she's talked about like prime MJ or something. I guess Mark Jackson, Chris Webber, and Reggie Miller do suck pretty hard.

the only female NBA commentator which never make me wonder if she was employed just for her looks. Knows the game, but it's not boring neither allows herself to become hyped-up or to subjective during her work.

but also...

She's good, but she does come off as know it all sometimes and not really much of a cheerleader.

She doesn't seem to joke or throw HOT TAKES out there - which I didn't realize that i do like after watching some of the drab commentary on TNT Players Only. Thomas and Greg Anthony are like listing to a an audio book recording on the civil war. Mark Jackson is even worse.

guys like Reggie Miller and VanGumby do add an extra entertainment level to a broadcast, esp when the game is stale.

Admiring a woman's looks is one thing. Going down the road of full blown misogyny, where more than a few comments in this thread have gone regarding Doris Burke, is another.

Also, the point made by PockyCandy still stands. The topic posed by the OP was about how good Burke is as a commentator, not whether or not any of us here would bang her or not.

No way better than Hubie Brown who is a legend and very entertaining.

She's knowledgeable but sounds very phoned in and arrogant. The only one worse is Reggie Miller.

I think she's great at her job.

I'm pretty misogynst when it comes to men's sports broadcasts, but she won me over quickly. Not the typical ESPN/ABC eye-candy clown who is less knowledgeable than a drunk fan in a bar. I only watch ESPN now when an actual game is being broadcast. Their female NBA studio personalities are terrible, and the last time I turned on sportscenter out of the blue some baby-faced woman was spewing political nonsense and I noped on off to another channel instantly.

I've liked her since day because she does have really good insight.

But I think over time as her profile has grown, she has gotten a little softer on critiquing players, but not as bad as a lot of other guys like Chris Webber or Mark Jackson who go to the extreme.

I also dig the mature look and glasses. The video where she is jogging off the floor in high heels and she catches the basketball and dribbles sealed the deal for me......
I'm so tired of the typical......

Shes 100x better than either Hubie or Webber, I'll tell you that much.

Listening to Webber during the MIlwaukee v. Boston series was absolutely brutal.

I don't have a problem with Doris, as well as Hubie, Marv, Mike Breen, Greg Anthony. and maaaaaaybe reggie (hes been growing on me a lil)

**** the rest. its a damn shame we're gonna have to listen to svg and mark jackson in the finals. mark can be fun to listen to when he's actually into the game, but most of the time SVG will be talking about the most random sh*t and he'll distract Mark.

I don't get why Hubie gets so much hate. He's pretty knowledgeable. I will say tho he's far more tolerable to listen to when he's commentating NCAA games.

Webber on the other hand. lol
everything about this guy is bad.
his voice is annoying, he's biased af, tries sooo hard, etc.
every game he calls gets ruined.
