Decided to watch the Magic win against the lakers last night since I never saw it and wondered how the hell we did it. Man did we defend Lebron extremely well, but couldn't guard Quinn cook or Troy Daniels....great game though, probably best of the year considering how many players were out for us. I definitely think if you're going up against Lebron in the playoffs, you definitely want Aaron Gordon on your team to defend him

The @Spurs game will be a real test for the coaching staff.

Happy we didn't have to play our starters heavy minutes last night! Hoping for fresher legs on this back to back!

If Fournier doesn't produce in the playoffs again this year, not sure how he could justify getting a pay increase.

Same with Vuc. If he blanks out, not sure he could expect this organization to revolve around him next season.

At some point you have to try something different. The problem is for example if Vuc went down they might try Bamba for half of one game and if he struggled they'd bench him.

Since allstar break Fultz is shooting 0% for 3 ( 0-12), 60% FTs and averages on 10,4 ppg.
Safe to say Magic played another nba season without starting level PG

To add in support: Augustin's shooting numbers this year are well below his career averages. This year he is at a not-horrible 34% three-ball, but that is 0.39% worse than his career averages and WAY below his work the last two years with the Magic.

Still: Fultz has grit. I think that is something to build on.

Go get Allen Crabbe, just bought out...6'5", 27 years old, got ridiculously overpaid and became a "disappointment"...shot over 40% on high volume from downtown several seasons (once at 46.8%!!)....great resurrection opportunity at low cost. Unlikely that he just forgot how to shoot, let's plug him in to our supportive environment and beautiful winter weather and see.

Rough stretch shooting. Wish we could combine Fultz & DJ into one starter.

Fultz's form and shot is overall looking better subjectively but the ball isn't dropping from 3.

Vuc has gone 0-7 and 0-5 from 3 in single games this season. He also hasn't hit a 3 in the last 3 games (0-8) and he's 2-18 since All Star Break.

Not defending his shot because it is not falling but he takes a ton of end of quarter full court 3’s that makes his percentages look worse.

The Magic should definitely take a look at Troy Daniels. He's terrible defensively, but he can really shoot the ball well. Would be great to have next to DJ and Ross as extra shooters from off the bench.

Law would be a roster-balance upgrade over Frazier, who would be the waived player.

there's still people who are afraid and don't want Magic to get another guard because it will take away from Fultz... When will people learn he's just a little more polished EP

Exactly how I feel.

https://www.sbnation.com/nba/2020/3/2/21160663/orlando-magic-trades-free-agency-playoffs-nikola-vucevic-evan-fournier

Eight years, four head coaches, bottom-10 offenses (usually bottom-five) every year. Vucevic has been there literally the entire time. Gordon and Fournier showed up in the third year. Nothing has changed. And this franchise had, at times, J.J. Redick and Tobias Harris and Victor Oladipo but also Jacque Vaughn and Scott Skiles. It’s not working. The offense, with this mix of scorers, is not working. It is not ever going to work.

Tearing down what has failed repeatedly doesn’t mean starting over. But Vooch and Fournier are the offensive tentpoles of this team, and this team’s offense continues to be dreadful, so what’s lost in trying something different there? You may regret trading Gordon right before his breakout, but you should be regretting giving fans the same old mediocre schlock every winter. Regrets are easy to come by on the treadmill of mediocrity.

TLDR- Vuc is who he is an now 10x more expensive, AG turned a little corner, Fournier is who he is.

Fultz wasn't allowed to shoot past 15 feet for an entire season and half an offseason. I'm going to give him a little more time to work back his deep shots before I compare him to Elf who always had a broken shot.

I doubt seriously that they'll have the playoffs this year in full arenas with the coronavirus growing. The NCAA considering playing in empty arenas for March madness.

It could potentially cancel a whole season next year, with a vaccine possibly being 18 months away
