He is an amazing shooter! Steph was taken lower cause of his defence. I am not saying he is a Steph level shooter, but why the hell do we need more short PG’s ! We need shooting above everything else, we have enough defence.

I like this kid but man I hope we won’t regret passing on Tyrel Terry! That kid can shoot which is always a high currency!

More of a Davis replacement especially with his legal issues.

Just a boring pick in my opinion, very Lowry / Fred type player. Let's hope it works out.

What were you expecting at 29? Kevin Durant?

If he ends up in 3-4 years as a solid NBA PG, that's very much good value for 29 in any draft. Go back over past drafts and look at all the names fans stroked themselves over who never went on to do a damn thing except wave towels.

The most underrated issue in assembling a contender is fit. Not just athleticism or skills, but fit. He seems like a very good fit given his style of play, competitiveness and two-way focus. He is a strong pick and roll PG, and the Raptors really have pick and roll guys to feed. High skill levels where it counts for the kind of game Toronto plays.

You guys are aware that Kyle Lowry is going to be 35 in March right? No this doesn’t mean Fred is gone.

i know he's a good defender but Lowry + VanVleet works but i cant imagine Flynn + VanVleet working as well. Lowry is wide/big

But i trust Nurse & Masai

All good man..the Raps will be stuffing Freddy to get his booty big ..we got a year or two more of Kyle to go.. Flynn needs to become Freddy in the mean time..

Someone like Bruno would've been more exciting.

Nice. With the direction the league is going I have no qualms taking a guy a lot of skill, even if they don't have the "ideal" NBA body. Sounds like he's a standout defender as well, so he should fit into the culture just fine.

If FVV does stay though... Man our backcourt and defence is going to be lethal

Lowry/Flynn
FVV/Norm
OG
Siakam
FA/Boucher

Lowry/FVV and now Flynn will be great on perimiter but we still need that 6'7 wing that can score and create to take presurre off them as we saw vs Boston. Not sure if OG isd that guy yet. Raps need to make somehting happen there.

Also not really sure how TD2 fits in anymore... I honestly think he gets packaged off.

This is a huge point that hasn't even been discussed much in this thread so far. He'll learn our schemes quick as well because he's got bags of BBall IQ.

I think he's quite a bit ahead of Fred offensively, when Fred was drafted as well, and he's an inch taller than Fred and Kyle and looks more athletic.

I think people here saying he's a low ceiling player are wrong. He's got a ton of potential for development imo.

Last time I checked, we won a championship with 2 short point guards.

As long as he does not take minutes away from McCaw I am good with the pick.

Are we really going to give up on TD because he made a mistake?

TD is special
