Re: 2021 Free Agency
Porzingis is a non starter. Unfortunately he can't play well anymore due to injury.
At least Hayward has basketball value when he is healthy.
Ben Simmons or bust

Feel like anyone seriously thinking Simmons is a possibility is just setting themselves up to be disappointed

Realistically a Ben Simmons trade package would be Lamelo + firsts.

We aren’t getting Ben Simmons and he would not be as effective with this roster anyway.

We all know the front office isn't going to make any big trade, will probably just throw 15m/year at Holmes, draft 11 and call it an offseason
So we are already disappointed, but it doesn't hurt to hope

We have the perfect roster for Simmons as the inside guy playing the other four out. HE doesn't work in Philly because he can't mesh with Embiid

He seems really interested in the celebrity lifestyle, I don't think he would accept being in Charlotte. Klutch would work Mitch over within a year to ship him off to NY/LA/Miami for peanuts.

Re: 2021 Free Agency
Assuming the team trades for a big, there will likely be a need for another wing. Who do you guys like that we have a realistic chance of signing?
I'm thinking Kupchak should go after Derrick Jones Jr. again. He has a player's option and with the Blazers looking to make big changes I think he could be convinced to opt out. We need someone better than the Martin twins, he would relegate them to the deep bench.

Like this a lot...and just looked him up...he's only 24! That shocked me. Would be a very nice piece.

I like it as well a multi position defender who Melo can run with because he's an extreme plus athlete.

Re: 2021 Free Agency
Here is quick team view on Cap Space, will try to keep most of these pretty short.
Teams with massive space
Knicks 70 Million in cap space- no real cap holds. Might resign Rose, Bullock or Noel. Even still a big time player in FA.
Thunder 60 Million in Cap Space- no real cap holds. Bad team will probably sign young guys or take bad deals from good teams.
Spurs 55 million Cap Space - No idea what their plan is.
Teams with 20-30ish Million
Raptors 30 million in cap space- Assuming Lowry gone. They have space and will look to sign Trent last with low cap hold.
Hornets 30 Million in cap space- If renounce Monk and sign Graham last, 20 million or so to sign outside FA target.
Rockets 30 Million in cap space- Bad team. No real cap holds. May use same strategy as Thunder.
Grizzlies 25 Million in cap space- This is releasing Winslow. no other real cap holds.
Magic- 20 Million in cap space- No real cap holds. Full 20 available.
Mavs- 25 Million in cap space- this is without Hardaway. If they resign him they wont have much left.
Teams with Cap Space but likely to use it on RFA
Hawks 20 Million in cap space- Have 20 or so. If they resign Collins last they could spend like 8 million elsewhere.
Bulls 30 Million in cap space- If they resign Markannen last they would have 10 million elsewhere. Full 30 if they let walk.
Pelicans 20 million in cap space- This is w/o Lonzo and Hart cap holds. Not huge threat to sign outside guys.
Kings 20 Million in cap space- Holmes low cap hold sign last. They could keep him and still have 15 to spend elsewhere.
Cavs 20 million in cap space- If they keep Allan, will have less than 10 to spend elsewhere.
Wildcards
Heat- Will probably use all cap space to resign Oladipo. Pickup option for Dragic. Robinson low cap makes him easy to keep if they will pay him what he wants.
Blazers- Have some space, but assuming they use it all to bring back Powell and maybe Zach Collins.
Teams with likely no Cap Space and largest contract they can give is 10 Million annually with MLE
Warriors
Nets
76ers
Clippers
Bucks
Celtics
Pacers
Jazz
Wolves
Nuggets
Suns
Wizards
Lakers
Pistons

So on the flip side here are the players that these teams will be trying to sign using this cap space..... By my count there is roughly 20 guys worth more than the MLE hitting free agency this summer. Only 9 teams are likely to have cap space to sign one of these guys transitioning to a new team. Do Monk and Graham fit the bill or will they be forced to sign for less than the MLE with Hornets or another team....
Guys who are worth more the MLE in my mind
John Collins- Most likely Atlanta keeps him and doesn't have money for any other real moves
Victor Oladipo- Miami is likely to keep him
Mike Conley- Jazz have no cap space to sign anyone else, so they will overpay him to keep him.
Demarr Derozan- Best FA to likely change teams? Knicks, Griz or Mavs all could make sense.
Lauri Markannen- Bulls could let him walk, but unlikely
Duncan Robinson- Heat can keep cuz low cap hold, question is can a team offer him something they are scared to match?
Norman Powell- Blazers probably going to pay him.
Kyle Lowry- Likely to leave for new team, but what good team can offer him something over MLE? Knicks or Mavs maybe?
Jarrett Allen- Cavs can easily match any deal.
Gary Trent- Raptors can easily match. Anyteam out there crazy to give him over 20 million per year?
Spencer Dinwiddie- Will be on new team, someone will use 20 Million of cap space on him.
Lonzo Ball- Likely to stay with Pelicans since they didnt trade him.
Tim Hardaway- Mavs make sense, but if they shake things up some team will offer him close to 20 million.
Kelly Oubre- Worth more than MLE, limited options.
Dennis Schroder- Lakers really dont have space to sign anyone else, I smell an overpay coming from them.
Goran Dragic- Heat will likely keep, but if not he is too good for MLE.
Evan Fournier- Maybe a team can snag with MLE, but my guess is he opts for money.
Reggie Jackson- Playing great right now, somebody will give him over MLE.
Doug McDermott- Could sign with contender with MLE, but also could take overpay from a team with cap space.
Devonte Graham- Is he worth a teams cap space? or will he only get MLE offers?
Malik Monk- Is he worth a teams cap space? or will he only get MLE offers?
Edit: Add Richaun Holmes to the above list. Likely a team with cap space throws big money at him to steal him from Kings. Hornets, Mavs, Spurs are some that make the most sense with potential cap space.
Guys who are good candidates to receive at least the MLE
Andre Drummond- lost a lot of money, could be new Whiteside and not even get MLE
Kelly Olynck- MLE on a good team could make sense here
Serge Ibaka- signed for MLE last season, could do it again if opts out of PO
Montrezl Harrell- Turned down cap space money last year for Lakers MLE, is he worth more than MLE this time around?
Justice Winslow- Could be waived by Grizzlies, could a team like Thunder take a chance with cap space?
Bobby Portis- Prime candidate to sign with contender for full MLE.
PJ Tucker- Smell a Jae Crowder type MLE deal coming for him. 3/30 with a good team.
Derrick Rose- Probably signs with contender for MLE
Nerlens Noel- Hard to see him getting more than MLE annually. A lot of teams will be interested, so maybe somone throws bag at him.
Otto Porter Jr- Just a solid 3D guy for a contender on MLE, could be the next Batum.
Danny Green- MLE all day everyday
Rudy Gay- Don't see any team offering him anything over MLE
Josh Hart- Good player, could see a 3/30 using MLE from a lot of types of teams.
Cody Zeller- Will be lucky to get MLE offer. Might sign for less with a really good contender.
Sorry if I missed anyone that could be worth MLE or more.

Re: 2021 Free Agency
The players can obviously change slight, but if you asked me today what my number 1 option would be in the front office I would say.
Let Monk walk, draft his replacement with Davion Mitchell at 11.
Pay Richaun Holmes in FA 3/50 with third year as team option.
Sign McDermott for 1 year 10 million or 2 year 20 million (second year team option) using MLE.
Resign Graham using his Low Cap Hold number last. something in the 3/30 range or 2/24.
New lineup...
Ball- Graham
Rozier- Mitchell
Hayward- Dougie
PJ- Miles
Holmes- PJ

Re: 2021 Free Agency
Since a friend here asked me about Yoeli Childs as an option for our local team, i noticed he went undrafted but had a 10 days contract with the Wizards. ATH made anice article about him last year.
Kinda wondering if he could be an option for the Hornets as in the ncaa he was checking a lot of boxes (rebounding, post offense, defense..)
Maybe some PJ Tucker potential here ?

They will match because he’s an asset you can’t let walk.
Mobley is a rookie and can come off the bench at first, they can also see if he can play with Allen.
They can trade the lesser of the 2 later if necessary

Dude Davion Mitchel just measured 6 ft even at the combine, he is gonna be worse defensively than Monk!

God no, that would be awful.
I hate the fit of Simmons with LaMelo. You're bringing in someone who needs the ball to be effective and has negative gravity. Like the literal opposite kind of player you want with Ball moving forward.
