Let him show he's an actual first round pick first. Career 11 MPG guy, and i assume he's still going to come off the bench behind Wolf and Landeborg.

Wolf is returning? Considering he is an almost guaranteed 1st round pick and all articles are about him likely leaving, what makes you think otherwise?

Landeborg "declared" too but with the NIL stuff, I don't assume anyone is gone unless they're a guaranteed top ten pick.

Just to chime in... there are some "talks" so probably less reliable than NBA insiders.. that MICH supposedly is offering 3.5-4m in NIL for Wolf to come back.

Put yourself in his shoes.. 25th is 2m/yr salary right? so college NIL is higher. Plus less than 30 games. Plus all the coeds you can entice to your dorm (lol)

But who knows....

Haven't seen him so nimble since he left Zaragoza. Looked like the best player on the floor by far, Gobert with prehensile ability.

Yep, I saw some workout clips in the summer and immediately noticed that he looked far quicker and agile. Thought maybe its just the camera angle that gives this impression but it seems to be real

he went from the very worst coach for his skill set to seemingly the very best. Sucks that these decisions about where to go to school and who to play for can derail or sometimes destroy careers. I learned very quickly I was way too exuberant about his prospects once I saw how he labored just running up and down the court and with how he was utilized it became pretty obvious to everyone he wasn't ever going to be taken high in the draft but it's still nice to know he does still exhibit some of the NBA traits we thought he had and might force his way into the league at some point.

Still awfully slow, but he’s developing. Good passer. Pretty good instincts on defense.

I just don’t know how he’ll hold up against stronger guys. Balance is still an issue. I imagine he’ll end up declaring, but he could use another year with May.

Who does he compare to? I love bigs that can pass but as a prospect I just cant buy in until he cleans up that FT%.

I dont think a big is even R1 draftable at under 50% FT. Hell, even under 60% the guy has to be KILLER elsewhere for me to grade him R1, and I dont think Mara is there.

High R2 flyer type still to me. Some unique traits, some inherent and likely permanent issues (High COG, speed/agility, epic bad FT%).

I want to believe, but I just cant right now.

If you draft him now, he’s going to provide very little value on his first contract. If he’s a first rounder (I can’t imagine that, but whatever), you might get something by year four. If he’s a second rounder, he costs less, but he’ll likely provide nothing on his initial deal.

He’s basically discount Hansen, who is on a long road to usefulness himself. And Yang has a much more solid frame. Mara is all arms and legs, which gives him killer length, but just no body control.

I’d pass entirely. But he could end up a viable NBA player in his mid-late 20’s if his health holds up that long. Great guy to have for Michigan, though.
