dallas playing hard ball. they figure they could just wait till we buy him out or something. which is frustrating since we did all this to help lowry out. precious/okpala are potentially okay pieces to get back but this dragic situation is a headache.

powell wouldn't be a great return either if that ends up being it. would make more sense to just go with birch.

but i do have a feeling there's another big shoe left to drop and they're pursuing simmons.

Why the hell would we want Porzingis? Haven't you watched him in the playoffs? His knee injury has cost him his lateral quickness, and he is no longer a unicorn. He is now a max-contract Channing Frye or worse.... Bargnani. He is negative value contract.

Any picks Mavs attach with Porzingis will be worthless - as soon as Mavs gets rid of Porzingis they are going to be good, meaning their FRP will be in the 25+ range.

In hindsight they should've used the cap and tell Lowry bye and good luck. They should have had the Dallas ready before telling Lowry he can go to Heat.

And we would want Powell and WCS why? Rather sign Birch he's better then both and then retain Dragic till the trade deadline or at least until his value nets us something other then another team's scraps. Powell has not been the same since his injury and has basically stopped improving.

yep thats what athletic is reporting. they cant sign a player using TPE, but they might trade for a player and flip that player to us along with WCS.

We don't. Powell is a more negative asset then Dragic on a longer deal.

Comes down to it, if the Mavs don't want to give up additional assets then team would just hold onto Dragic. Try and flip him in season.
