Celtics got 25 year old kyrie with 2 seasons left for dirt cheap for an injured Isaiah Thomas and what would become the 8th overall pick. Plus crowder.

They shouldn’t complain.

It’s not like kyrie was a 3 month rental at trade deadline.

Read the responses from Celtics fans here. It’s not that he left. Celtics fans wanted him gone. It’s that he purposely tanked the playoffs and destroyed team chemistry while in Boston, also causing them to lose Horford and Rozier.

Meh. Chris Bosh was similar (he was never re-signing and strung them along, refused to play when his nose healed and we missed the playoffs, bailed for the spot he colluded with all seaosn, didn't mention Toronto in any good light and quite opposite), Carter as well for us (mailed in in, forced a trade for no value, didn't ever treat the organization with respect really until maybe way late). Pretty sure that hate wasn't/isn't close to the same levels. Carter was a little.

*Because he's a delusional, selfish egomaniac that literally does not care about anyone but himself and his personal image of himself. *He NEVER accepts responsibility for his actions- he always has an excuse. And his excuse is usually that us mere plebs don't understand him, because he's smarter than everyone, in every room.
*He thinks because he's really good at basketball that he's some how a gifted genius off the court who sees things on a higher level than most 'sheep'.
*Because he's a spoilt brat and has been his whole life-like many professional athletes and kids who come from wealthy, privileged homes like he did.
*He also has guilt issues that probably arise from his privileged upbringing. He loves playing the race/minority card, but his life and growing up with a rich dad meant he's never had to struggle in his youth with poverty and real systematic/poverty born racism like most of his NBA peers- so he tries to compensate for it to deflect and excuse his sh*%*ty behavior.
*He's a turd of a human. Everything you don't want your kids to become when they grow up.

For me, much of the hate stems from feeling he set our franchise back after we had so much great momentum after that lengthy rebuild. Despite some fantastic games over those two seasons, it was clear that he was eroding something special even if many of us were in extreme denial.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think anybody was sad to see him leave. But while he was present we were all part of an abusive relationship, like a high earning dad who gets to beat his kids.

The nail in the coffin for me was that absolutely pathetic Milwaukee series where he purposefully shot us out of it with a historically horrific 4 game stretch and would come back with snide remarks at each presser. Equally mad at Brad for not benching him.

take away all the academics, students, etc that are there due to the concentration of university systems you just got a northern redneck city with the highest number of racists north of the mason dixie line.

He has taken over from Bucky Dent as the most hated opposing player in Boston sports history. And for good reason. For me, not showing up to a singe playoff game in 2018 to support his young teammates was mind boggling and completely unforgivable.

Kyrie, I'm typing this with one hand and giving you the finger with the other.

Celts fans, be honest, at the time you didn't want him to resign, like my boy Billy Simmons.

The Celtics fans hate Kyrie for one simple reason. His talent is off the charts as he displayed last night. They had the talent in Boston to win a title: Kyrie, Horford, Tatum, Brown, Smart, Hayward, Morris, Rozier. If he played even 1/2 the way he played last night they could have got one. But his focus was elsewhere. He checked out, didn’t care and it showed. When he left, Baynes, Horford, Rozier, Morris left too - that 5 probably makes the playoffs by itself and the team still makes ECF the following season.

Compare that to Durant. He left OKC for the team that eliminated OKC in WCF but he left it all on the court. He left GSW but he risked his achilles to win it all - and paid for it sadly.

Kyrie didnt do that in Boston. He basically quit. Rewatch the games or search YouTube for video evidence of his pathetic defensive ‘effort’ against Bucks. And then he smeared the organization, smeared the coach, smeared the GM, blamed Tatum and Brown when they were what was right with the team and then he dumped on the city and blamed the fans for being racist which was a BS move. He even treated the broadcasters who travelled with him like they were invisible and beneath him.

Good riddance. Regardless of outcome of this series, this season and this experiment will end badly for Brooklyn. The best hope, sorry to say, for the future is Simmons.

I can relate with the frustration of Celtics fans.

As a Cavs fan, I still have zero explanation as to why he wanted to leave the Cavs.

He wanted to be “the guy” and realized he couldn’t? Is that why he bolted to be with KD?

Kyrie is like a lot of young people in general: Just kind of talks a lot, but doesn’t fully process what’s being said or just doesn’t care.

Let's be honest though.. The Kyrie thing would be no different than those situations you mentioned had he just came in, took the boo's that he earned, balled out and left. Kind of like Ray Allen, Hayward, Horford who left for Philly and many others who have left, got boo'd and it died down.

But the first day he came back to play here he throws out 'I can take the boo' s I just hope they don't get racist'.. Which sure Boston has its racism history, we get it..but it seemed like bait to me. Than he wins a game and wipes his foot on the logo.
No other player did anything like that.. If it wasn't for those he would have been boo'd the same way Bruce Brown or KD got boo'd yesterday..

do you have any evidence that they hate him because he’s black? i mean they seem to love all their other black players. then there’s one that treats them like crap and they hate him and that just automatically makes them racist? most of the nba is black players. so anytime a fan base hates a player greatly it’s racism?
