I don’t get this line of thinking.

If it’s true that KD prefers to end his partnership with Kyrie, it doesn’t mean the Nets have to rush into making a move. KD is locked up, nets can wait all off-season in hope he changes his mind, hope a better offer for Kyrie comes their way. Hope that something better materializes. There’s no reason for them to rush.

Doesn't really pass the common sense test.

This makes zero sense. If the Nets want Kyrie gone and KD wants Kyrie gone he'd be gone. If the organization really views it as an addition by subtraction they would have pulled the trigger it would not have come to Durant asking for a trade. And even if if big and this is a big IF the Nets were stuck on the idea of getting max value for Kyrie they would explain to Kevin the plan and he would know it's just a matter of time. Plus almost all the creditable insiders are saying that the Nets will handle Durant trade request before deciding what the ultimately want to do with Irving. Again so why would the Nets who want KD piss him off so bad he would request a trade to get rid of a player but the player and team want gone. Does that make any sense to anybody?

1) It erodes players trust with KD
2) If getting rid of Irving means Westbrook and nothing else it slams shut the door on KD ever winning a ring again.

This doesn't pass the sniff test.

No one is going to blame KD for not wanting to gamble his future on a Kyrie partnership.

And wanting to get rid of Kyrie doesn’t mean he wants the nets to dump him for Westbrook. That’s a separate story of Kyrie trying to dictate his destination.

Nobody can blame him for anything he decides to do, it just doesn't make sense tho. This rumor seems like bs

Makes sense considering trade demand came in right after Kyrie opted in. Nets looking for reassurance KD will be happy to stay if Kyrie gets moved.

KD just wants to lead the league in Twitter mentions. With all the LeBron Stans arround leading LeBron in Twitter mentions requires work. KD did what he had to do.

Well, they did trade for Royce O'Neal, so one really has to wonder if anyone in the Nets organization has a grip on anything at all - KD included. KD is all about KD and he just sees the writing on the wall and wants another run with a contender which NETS are not and won't be in the last few years of his career.

Sounds like fake news. KD hasn't gotten traded and Kyrie isn't in L.A. so now some in the media have to resort to making up things hoping to get KD's attention and comment on it in some way which to them is better than this current silence. The longer it goes with both of them not being moved the more we hear these fake rumors. By saying KD can't stand Kyrie loud enough they're hoping that he(not Kyrie cause he insults them all the time lol) takes the bait. I think KD like has been speculated and sounds plausable is angry and doesn't understand why his team wouldn't lock up in his opinion one of the top 20(or in his mind possibly top 10) players in the league

It's hard to tell what's real and what's fake but I don't think the Nets are doing what KD wants any more. Since he requested the trade nothing has happened to him or Kyrie. Sean Marks is quietly building a good team.

This thread is still going on? Its an incredibly bad report/take from someone who has no ties to the Nets organization. McMenamin needs to stick to talking about what's in Lebron's ziplock at Summer League
